Roster Update For 10:

The EA people were on here daily up until Elite got cancelled. That's great and all, that they were going to keep us interested in their new product. But I would like to hear if they are going to update the Rosters for 10 soon. I've heard someone say it was going to be today... and someone else on here said mid November.

Can we get a real answer from an EA person?

I know that you guys aren't going to make any money by releasing a roster update, but I can't believe you couldn't get it out on the release day of Elite. It's just about giving us (people who loved your work in 10) something to hold us over.

Personally, I know a bunch of people that were like "10 is gonna be so fun with new rosters!" And I was like "Yeah, I can't wait to play with the new teams..." but that excitement isn't going to last until mid November... I promise you that.

The updates will most likely begin at the beginning of the NBA regular season. That's how it has been the last two years and I imagine that's how it works with DNA Updates again this year.

I don't understand EA.. why in the hell wouldn't you bring out a roster update on the 5th. Update the uniforms/courts and still at least be in conversation when people talk virtual basketball

Hey, that's not exactly what I wanted to hear... but I will accept that as a decent answer. I know you guys don't owe me or "us" anything, but we did buy Live 10 and did want a new game with 11... so hopefully it can be everyone on teams and the rookies that are real players.

If you can swing that by 'opening day' I will be pretty happy. But please don't wait until Mid November.

What I don't understand is the people complaining about this...if you bought NBA Live 10, you should have had ZERO expectations for 2010-11 roster updates and daily support for this season. That service is being provided to you despite the fact that they aren't getting any more of your money.

In my book, the cancellation of the game is bad news for people who thought they were going to like it, but EA gets an A+ for how they have handled that news. People are always saying that sports games should be on two year cycles with roster updates purchasable in the off year...that's essentially what happened here. Except your roster update is free!

thats actually a very good point, yet patience is a hot commodity right now as well as VG ballers wanting to play with updated Live10 rosters online
either way, the truth is, they are probably having to go back and start from scratch with a Live 10 update based from elite/live11 ratings,etc which isnt an overnight thing, although i wish it were

offpoint a little-i have been playing 2k11 and i like it, but i keep going back and forth between it and Live10, i still prefer live/elite to 2k11; reason-gameplay/gameflow & in-game graphics

I believe the game was best pre patch ??? (other than the 3pt bombers)

A roster can EASILY be done very quickly (days at most) and should have been done and out to match timing with NBA2K11 coming out. From a business standpoint, you want to give every reason to NOT buy the other game and that was not done. Business decisions are not going well over at EA these days.

That is so true. Even when EA took the NFL license and 2k could not make anymore NFL games many fans still continued to play NFL 2k5 and as a result they released some roster updates for those fans. Now thats showing love to your fans. I know Elite might be their main focus. But I would like for them to atleast show that they appreciate those fans that are still supporting Nba live 10. A lot of us cant help that we liked that better. Then again thats EA's fault. Not ours. DNA is usually updated during the regular season but if i were ea I'll be doing watever possible to keep an nba live fan from touching nba 2k11 which may be unlikely because the game is so damn good but atleast try.

Uh, first of all they said they were going to support it. Secondly, the longer they go on and do not update the rosters, whether or not they are directly getting our money, people are moving over to 2k because nobody wants to play a game with last season's rosters.

You have to say that there is no precedent for this matter because as far as I know a game has never been cancelled like this. So the first thing they should have done (and they did) was say, we will continue to support Live as a courtesy to our fans and players that still... IN OCTOBER OF 2010! are playing last year's game.

I bought Live twice this year because one of them got stuck in my 60gb ps3 when it failed (still waiting to get it fixed...) so, it's not like they aren't getting my money, either.

Last point, I think the roster editing is a complex process if they are going to put in rookies, too. Not saying it'll take weeks like they think it will, but it probably will take more than one day. If they just move all of the existing players to their correct teams, that could be done in one day I'd say, but I want real rookies that play like themselves and look similarly to themselves. And if I am getting that, I would wait until late October.

Live 09 had roster updates even after Live 10 came out.

And I didn't have any expectations for Live 10 because I assumed Elite 11 was going to be released. That didn't happen.

Going out today and buying 2k11. This roster update is now irrelevant to me. This will be the first time I played 2k since 1999.

Loved Live 10 over 2K10 and had high hopes for Elite11. I may be truly converted to 2K this year since it's the only game coming out.

I am looking forward to the new rosters as well. I would think it would be awhile still. The last update of the season took a couple months I think.
Either it's really hard for EA to do a roster update or it's not a priority. I would bet the latter.
