This Will Eleviate A Little Frustration

Gentlemen...I have found the answer to one of the frustrating problems a lot of people are having. I noticed that every time I'm guarded by the cpu, they seem to bump the heck out of me all the time and take me out of my rythm constantly. I had no flow to my offense due to a 3 to 4 foot clobbering of my point guard. Well to fix this problem, all you have to do is tone down the "cpu on-ball physical defense". I have mine set to 30 and they are still aggressive enough to keep the game realistic. This way, you are able to use your freestyle control more effectively without having to adjust the freestyle slider.

For those of you who figured this out already, cool. But for those who didn't know, this should help in that area. You will immediately notice a difference once you jump back into the game.

Another thing I noticed. My brother (Highpressure) and I were dumbfounded as to why our players were not crashing the offensive boards even when we had the slider maxed out and crash boards turned on. Well after looking at a few player ratings, we found the problem.

    Example:

    Juwan Howard
    Orlando Magic

Off Rebounds: 53 Why? Should be high 60's low 70's
Def Rebounds: 74 Why? Should be low to mid 80's
Def Awareness: 66 Why? Should be high 70's

    Tyronn Lue
    Orlando Magic

Off Awareness: 62 Should be low to mid 70's

Another player (there are others as well) to note would be Zach Randolph for Portland. Based on his performance last year, he should have been rated much better than they have him. Going through the teams, you will find a lot of ratings that need to be adjusted. It's time consuming but if you like the game and plan on keeping it, it's worth it. The sad part is, all of the b-ball games out there are the same. You have to manually go in and adjust the ratings for the majority of the players in the game to make them more effective.

I love the game! I'm having a blast playing it. Looks like I will have this and ESPN since EA didn't make Live online compatible for the Xbox!

    sounds good.

Do you mind posting your slider settings. Global, cpu, user and maybe the qrt. lengths and the diff. you play on.

I actually like the bumping. It makes for a better game experience IMO. Feels more physical.

I'm not trying to Freestyle and Pro Hop my way into the lane on every possession.

I don't think the bumping is THAT bad. I would like the freestyle to be a tad bit more effective. Just a lil bit though. Maybe I just need to practice more too, that could also be the problem.

I agree. I hardly ever use the Pro Hop. I almost forgot it was in the game. I haven't touched the freestyle effectiveness at all. I just bumped down the cpu on-ball defense. For me, it was not realistic. There is no way that someone would get bumped that much and that hard on offense and a foul not get called. I also turned it down due to the fact that you can't fix the guard ball problem. Again. No one uses the guard ball position that much to where they have to make it automatic instead of the position of choice (i.e. the left trigger).

I never abuse a particular option they give me. I use Portland because I like them. They have a strong low post game and decent outside shooters. So I play according to their strengths.

I can post my slider info in the slider area so hopefully you can find them.

I had to resort to using the pro-hop in a game last night against the CPU Kings. Brad Miller and Webber were roughing up Kurt Thomas down low; I couldn't get any inside game going. I ended up having to pass out of the post, swing it around to Keith Van Horn, and try pro-hopping to try to create something. If you know anything about Keith Van Horn, I'm sure you can figure out how that strategy turned out.

I actually like the bumping. It makes for a better game experience IMO. Feels more physical.

I'm not trying to Freestyle and Pro Hop my way into the lane on every possession.

                              Lowpressure Out!!
