Sales for the Live games have been absolutely abysmal. I don't even think Live 15 broke a quarter of a million. I doubt 16 is doing much better.

How much longer can EA justify making these games?

15 should have been what 16 (with our proposed fixes and patches) is/may be.

So progression-wise, things are moving a bit too slow to really wow the fence sitters.

Sales-wise, the company may not allow it to happen.

I would like to see it happen but the team needs to increase in size and actually get more intelligent players on board as consultants.

Mind blowing.

We have generic faced big name rookies, a heap of big name stars unscanned, numerous bugs, legacy issues that have carried over for years, almost no one seemingly having purchased the game if LUT and Pro-Am numbers are anything to go by (never seen more than 80 players online) and 'minor bug' fixes the most detailed patch notes have provided and there is work being done on the next version?

Listen, I won't speak about things that I cant, but there are things that are ready to go into the game, however there's only certain amounts of data that can be pushed in s certain timeframe. On top of that, you can only do so many updates in a certain timeframe. 16 isn't abandoned, and those things are coming. However we're kind of at an impasse due to these restraints.

I wonder what the numbers are this year...

Live '15 seemed to have a bit more momentum out of the gate than '16 has

I have faith in live. Be mindful of the budget this game probably has access to. Pretty sure its lower than most sports games

But if these sales numbers are true. How long can they keep going at that rate ?

I'm also pretty sure EA is expecting these numbers but how long can it go at this clip ? (this isn't me ragging on EA but its just an honest question....)

As consumers, we should want the NBA Live franchise to compete strongly with the NBA 2K franchise -- that's the best way to guarantee we get the best games possible. NBA Live 16's Live Run, while far from perfect, is so quick and fun to play, especially when you have a good crew of teammates. I hope EA capitalizes on what's good in Live 16, and listens to consumers about what they want.

I hope so..I'm enjoying 16. Are there some things that annoy me? Yeah, but not enough to turf the game and never play it again. Pro-Am is a great mode and having fun with the player progress and pickup games. Some of the things people are complaining about I find bizarre...like un-scanned/generic faces on obscure players, "wrong" sneakers on a player, ect....at the end of the day, the game plays pretty well IMO. Is it better than 2k? Not really, but it's a fun game of hoops. I hope they keep going with it.

I prefer LIVE gameplay much more than 2K. With all the craziness, 2K feel
I dont know how to explain it but kinda`sticky` to me. NBA gameplay flow better and fun.
However, with all the crashes & bugs, unable to edit the rosters(seriously???)
and not so many rookies in the game, I will go back to 2K next year
I never had mid-game crashes in 2k or EA`s Madden.
In live I did 2 games today both crashes in 4th Q. thats after the update.


btw, I am live fan since NBA LIVE 95(!) and I only switch to 2k in 2009, after the disappointment I had from Live 08. than back to live in 10. very disappointed. since then only 2k until this year.
