    The NBA Playbooks thread

Post the main plays that each team are supposed to run in NBA Live 2005

I think these two are obvious:

    >New Jersey - Motion
    >Utah Jazz - Utah

    > Lakers - Sideline Triangle? Not sure but most of the plays here heavily involve the Shooting Guard. I tried using Flex but Lamar ODom gets most of the shots.

        Re: The NBA Playbooks thread

I've been waiting for a thread like this to get started, since nobody hasn't been able to find the thread from Live 2004 that was done here at OS. Hopefully some of the VETS that created last years version could chime in and help us out.

Anyway to add to the lists, the Wizards playbook should also be set to MOTION. They run the same offense as the NETS. That's 3 down, 29 more to go...

        So far we have,

        Nets- MOTION
        Wizards-MOTION
        Utah-UTAH

Nah. you have to change it everytime. sucks.

I think The European team should use the Zone Offense. It's Anti-zone.

I hope this thread becomes a sticky

                    Re: The NBA Playbooks thread

The 1-4 High puts the PF up near the top of the key, so teams with a jump shooting, face towards the basket PF will probably go under that....

And from a thread in the Slider forum someone said that Stagger involves a lot of guard isolation plays..

I don't want to say for certain because I'm not really sure, but that's what I have been doing my last few games and it works well.

The one thing I can't figure out is what to do about teams with PFs who shoot 3s? The 1-4 will bring them out to the FT line a lot, but I haven't seen a PF shoot a three yet, I even played against Antoine Walker....

good thread though, hopefully some people will keep testing and find out more for us. I'm going to play around with them as well in my games, here is what I've used so far that has worked....

-Houston Rockets-Stagger....a lot of TMac, but Yao also had a lot of touches
-Cleveland Cavs-Motion....a lot of jumpers from the guards, Illgau. and Gooden also got some plays but Lebron and their PG(Delk I think) took most of the shots.

So you cant save these settings for each team? I am confused, could you give all teams a specific setting for a dynasty. Any help would be great

                            .

i put my pf who shoot 3s at the sf position in the lineup and have them guard the opposing pf on defense. then you can run plays for the "sf" shooting the 3.

with atlanta i would have walker at the sf and harrington at pf in the lineup and then , depending on who i play as, change their defensive assignment to best match my sf and pf. for season and franchise , they will have to stay as sf and pf on defense. not perfect , but better than walker not shooting any 3s.
