Re: ***Official Cleveland Cavaliers Thread***

Cavs Fans...what are your HONEST thoughts on Danny Ferry as a GM, despite him doing everything possibly to please The Prince because he is reportedly a finalist to replace Rod Thorn in NJ so I'm curious to know your thoughts on him.

Ferry is shrewd and patient. He thinks future, and most of his contracts have favorable buyouts and options at the end. Dude turned Damon Jones into Mo Williams, and teamed with Kerr to fleece the Wiz outta Jamison for nothing.

He's aggressive with FA's, but in CLE his hands were tied by Lebron refusing to woo anyone, and most players got the message that he wasn't commited to us. Nets situation will be a much easier sell.

We never had any high pics, but none of his drafting has been at all impressive. Not much in the way of steals or high value there. Luke Jackson was probably his worse pick, but then again, everyone was saying that was the safest pick in the draft at the time, lol.

Also, he really didn't do that great of a job picking players to compliment the coaching system. Brown constantly asked for long defenders, Ferry often provided short dudes and mediocre defenders. Part of that had to do with the pressure of signing "names" to appease Bron, but still.

Overall, I think he did a nice job considering he had to work around the constraints of an unattractive FA destination city, and working with a star that made sure his "guys" got taken care of, but then refused to sway other good players to come here. Ferry is more than solid.

Re: ***Official Cleveland Cavaliers Thread***

I guess it no longer matters since Billy King got the job SMH.

Re: ***Official Cleveland Cavaliers Thread***

From RealCavsfans:

Current rumors say ATL and NY are both possible S&T destinations for Shaq. ATL may be looking to move Marvin William's contract after he's regressed a bit, and speculation is that the only guy we'd take for Shaq is Chandler, whom the Knicks would be plain stupid to trade for a 39 year old. Then again, c'mon Zeke!

Also, according to Windy, The Cavs are looking to get a pass-first uptempo PG, and that they're targeting Mike Conley or Ramon Sessions in trades. Mo and a pick could probably get us Conley and an asset. Some folks are saying Thabeet, but again, it would be pretty silly to think the Grizz have totally given up on that kid.

Hickson and Eyenga are both looking pretty good in Vegas.

We'll see what happens.

Go Cavs.

Conley would be good, but I want no part of Thabeet.

Re: ***Official Cleveland Cavaliers Thread***

Matt Barnes saying no thanks to more money in CLE of course.

Dan Gilbert should just move the team to Hawaii or maybe NY.

Y'know following the Cavs was alot of fun both in real life and online. Now not only is the team in a bad position, CLE fans are going to have to deal with ridiculous, misinformed BS being flung around the net, since Brons backlash is going to build him a solid defense force out of people who never cared about the dude in the least just 2 weeks ago. As if being a CLE sports fan wasn't difficult enough already.

Thanks Lebron!
