So, he beat Murray by 6 3's? Murray made 79 & Hield made 85. I said all along that I would rather have Hield than Murray anyhow.

I keep going back and fourth between the two and Bender. I mean, it's great that Hield hit 85 three's, but 79 is nothing to scoff at either. Murray is over three years younger than Hield and Murray played much better than Buddy as a freshman. I think Buddy is definitely the short term answer, but may have already peaked. Whereas, Murray could continue to get better and better, but first needs to become as good as Buddy.

I've said many times if we're going to draft a guard with the 3rd pick we should go after Hield compared to all the other ones. He's a knock down shooter & experienced as well playing all 4 years in college. He's a bit better defender. He's about equal a rebounder. Hield has the deeper range although they're pretty close.

However, we're in bigger need of a really good big man. Taking Bender or Jaylon Brown would be my choice but I rather pick Bender over Brown. Bender will be a work in progress but we need something on the inside.

I still don't understand why we haven't used Zeller more since we've had him. He's had some pretty solid games in both scoring & rebounding since being in Boston but his minutes have decreased instead of going up.

Re: Official Boston Celtics Thread

Jimmy Butler is the latest name to hit the trade rumor mill. Word is Minnesota are making a push with the 5th pick as a center piece. Obviously Boston can offer more in terms of draft picks. Deal would likely have to include Bradley or Crowder.

What do you do?

If Butler is one of the guys that KD wants in order to sign with Boston, then my answer to your question is "whatever it takes".

If signing Butler has no bearing on whether KD signs or not, then I wouldn't give too much more than the 3rd pick, Bradley or Crowder and either one or two of Johnson, Jerebko or Rozier. That seems like a lot to me, but I feel like since we have a War Chest of assets we're going to be forced to overpay.

I agree with you on both fronts. If KD is part of it then yes do whatever it takes.

On the 2nd front, Just getting Butler straight up I agree in the players you said we might have to give up. I would give up Crowder & the 3rd pick anyday to get just Jimmy Butler himself. If it takes more than that than that then I wouldn't want to give up but one more player.

Maybe Rozier or Johnson but not both. I would do everything that I could if I were Ainge to try & keep Bradley. He's meant to much to this franchise & is still a force on both ends of the court. I would say 3 players is plenty to give up for gaining just Butler himself.

The 3rd pick, Crowder, & either Johnson or Rozier. Maybe even Smart as that 3rd player too but I would love to be able to keep him because he's a two-way player just like Bradley. Thanks!
