What about trading Bradley or Smart? You against any of those guys being traded?

No I'm perfectly fine moving Jae. I was speaking to a portion of Utah media and fans handling of Hayward leaving rubbing me the wrong way.

I really don't know which one to move all have their +. Wish heyward would just take 500k less haha.

Crowder contract is so valuable and him as a smallball 4 makes me think it's between Smart or Bradley.

Re: Official Boston Celtics Thread

Well, looks like Avery's gone for Marcus Morris. I'm really going to miss him because he's one of my favorite Celtics ever (for more than just basketball reasons). However, he did seem like the logical choice, especially after the Knicks likely priced us out of keeping AB next year with their Hardaway deal.

I'm interested to see who's going to start next season. I assume this will push either Smart into the starting lineup, but Brown or Hayward at SG is a possibility as well and of course, Ainge may not be done yet.

Thomas
Hayward
Crowder
Morris
Horford

Would be my best guess.

I think that's a strong possibility. It's going to be tough to stop the Wall's and Irving's of the NBA with that starting lineup... not that you can really do much to slow them down anyway.

I think Smart is probably the best guy to run the 2nd-unit offense though and our bench should be super fun. I'd like to add another vet big, but I think this move and cutting Mickey will give us enough cap room to bring Yabu over. Hopefully, at least one of Yabu, Zizic or Theis can step up and provide good energy off of the bench.

I think that starting lineup is a strong possibility. However, we could start Hayward at SF & start Smart at SG. That way we have two guys in IT4 & Smart on the court like having 2 PG's. Smart can do it all on defense & his offensive game is coming around too. That's the only other change that I could see really. Wonder what type of bench we're going to have? Olynyk & Johnson is gone. Should have Zeller back but we hardly ever even use him. Rozier will be back unless we end up trading him.

James Young I'm not sure if he's a UFA or not but he could be back but again he's never panned out in Boston. I think Nader whom we played in the D-League last season is a possibility now in coming off the bench for a few minutes per game. The rest of the guys we have are either going to still be in Europe or in the D-League one. If this is all we have to do or give up in getting Hayward then I think we have done extra well. I got a feeling though somebody else just might be traded in the end.

One other possibility in the starting lineup is starting Hayward at SF but have Crowder coming off the bench to provide us some bench help otherwise we're going to have one of the weakest benches in the league & can't depend on them for much help. I still think the starting lineup above is more likely but I do think having Crowder off the bench there's a chance for that. Thanks.

James Young is playing for New Orleans in Summer League so he's gone.

Nader could be good for depth, but with our wing depth, I don't see him getting any minutes unless something goes horribly wrong.

The more I think about it the more I think that the lineup that areo posted is what we will start the game with. I don't think Crowder will be happy coming off the bench, we need Smart to run the offense when IT goes out and Morris is more seasoned than Brown right now, plus we need his size to start games. To end games though, I think without a doubt the lineup will be IT, Smart, Hayward, Crowder and Horford.

Our depth won't be the most experienced but should be fine with Brown, Tatum, Rozier, Zizic, Yabusele and Theis. I wouldn't mind trying to bring back Gerald Green or Jerebko on a minimum deal or trying to sign a cheap big like Bogut or Speights. There are RFA's that I like better, but I think they're going to end up being too expensive.
