The are talking more highly on Jaylon Brown than Chriss. But, they are even higher on Dragan Bender. Ainge himself recently went to Europe to talk to him & watch him workout.

Ainge made no secrets about it either. He was impressed with Bender. That doesn't mean we're 100% taking him with that 3rd pick but if I were a betting man that's who I think we will take now.

Not much talk at about Hield being picked by the Celtics. He would be my 2nd choice behind Bender. Jaylon Brown would be my 3rd choice. After that, I really don't care. If we can't get either one of these 3 players then trade the darn pick away if you ask me.

I'll tell you somebody I would love to have with one of the later first round picks. That player would be Brice Johnson out of UNC. That guy is so athletic & can jump out of the gym. He can shoot well up to 17-18 feet out. He's 6'10" & can do so many things really well.

He's a solid rebounder & defender. He's a really good FT shooter for his size. He just needs to put on a few lbs & he will be fine. Could be a walking double-double for this team after his rookie season.

Yeah, I like Johnson too. It's kind of hard to really talk about the 16th and 23rd picks because it's all contingent on what happens with the 3rd Pick. With that said at 16 I like Johnson or Skal Labissiere, but I love Furkan Korkmaz (although I don't think he will fall to 16) or Denzel Valentine.

At 23 it's really hard to say because so much is up in the air. There's a lot of projects there, depending on what else happens I think a SF would be a need for us. Someone like Timothe Luwawu or Taurean Prince would be a good pick here or a project who could really turn into something like Ante Zizic may be nice instead, especially since we have the luxury of waiting on them to get NBA ready. However, all of this really depends on what happens with the 3rd pick.

Re: Official Boston Celtics Thread

Chad Ford believes the Boston Celtics could be "narrowing down" their options for the No. 3 pick to a trio of candidates: Kris Dunn, Jamal Murray and Marquese Chriss.

At this point my mindset is anyone but Dragan Bender. What I want the most is to trade the pick. Want to accelerate the rebuild process.

Not heard the latest news from Chad Ford you have provided. However, why would you not want us to pick Bender at #3? He's going to end up being a really good player in this NBA. We need some big guys that can score & play defense. He can do both.

I have seen chat about Dunn & a little about Jamal Murray but not anything in regards to Chriss. I would not be in favor or Chriss or Dunn if you ask me. We already have tons of guards. I'm ok with Murray but I'd prefer Hield over him as a SG.

I guess we would be trading a couple of those guards away assuming we do pick a guard or two in the draft.

This Chriss kid has been shooting up the board the last day or 2. Literally first day I heard of him was either yesterday or the day before.

I've know about Chriss all along. I watched him play for Washington in a couple of games this past season. He didn't impress me at all. I know he was a freshman but he should have come back for his sophomore season to improve his game.

However, seeing his draft status keeps rising then maybe he has done the right thing. I'm just not impressed with him. I would be extremely disappointed if we drafted him with that 3rd overall pick. I mean extremely disappointed. There are better players ahead of him & we need a big man more than we need a PG/SG/SF.

The only real skill I saw out of Chriss was hustle & a decent defender. Not much offensively. He was a top 100 recruit though coming into last season. I just don't see the need to draft him. There are quite a few players better than him.

I would say in my opinion he shouldn't even be a top 10 pick maybe even top 15. I could see him being drafted 15-20 though. But, my opinion doesn't count. It's what the teams think about him. I just say we can do better with that 3rd pick than Chriss.
