2k8 is the greatest college hoops game ever created. I love college basketball enough to try this game, but I will not hesitate to go back to CH2k8.

This first sentence puts a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of the article, and all this was already known. Thank goodness for copy/paste!

Good thing EA "pounced on this opportunity" or else we might have two college games competing for our money.

"With 2K Sports relinquishing the rights to create an NCAA basketball game, it’s now up to EA Sports to entertain the college basketball gamers. As usual, the guys at EA has pounced on this opportunity and has already given us details on the new direction the series is going."

What's your point? 2K walked away on its own and are free to get the license again and make CH whenever they want. 2K ended the College Hoops series, not EA. So even if EA didn't pounce on the opportunity there wouldn't have been a 2K game.

I am very interested in this game. It's been awhile since I've played a EA basketball game, but i'll definitely give the demo and at least a rent a shot. I like what I've heard, now let's see if it walks the walk.

I find it hard to believe 2k "walked away" from a profitable franchise. My guess is that EA had a deal in the works, and the money offered was too much to turn down. If I am mistaken then by all means let me know, but I thought EAs licensing this year was exclusive, meaning 2k can't make CH whenever they want.

And it looks like I was correct in my assumption that it is an exclusive license agreement. Here is a link to an interview with Producer Sean O'Brien.

I am pretty excited to try this game out, but I am not going to expect much. This is the first year for this game, new engine, I realize that problems and bugs are going to pop up. Hopefully the good outshines the bad this year and they have a great start to build a franchise on!

Are u kindin me in his 1st answer he said it wasn't hard 2k walked away from the the ncca series which allowed the guys at EA to take advantage of it, Im not surprise I liked the college hoops more then nba 2k series but most people I know don't even play it ( Im talking bout people out side of forums) and its not really a anticpated title, they didn't even advertise the game right. God knows how much MM series was makin.

College Hoops was never profitable. The only 2K Sports series to ever be profitable is the NBA series.

I stand corrected on that. But as stated in that interview the exclusive deal was made after 2K walked away. You may be right that the deal may have been in the works and the money involved might have led to 2K's retreat though.

I hope so too. Honestly, I'm not even sure I'll buy this game. I'm just starting to really get into CH2K8 (haven't played it much last year) so unless the reviews and impressions are very good, I might stick with 2K8 for at least this year.

I'd like to see NCAA Tournament games not played on generic courts in generic arenas this year. Will the pre and postseason NIT be played at the Garden? This games sounds great so far, I just hope it lives up to the hype.

Yeah, I don't know if this game is going to be a purchase for me either, it depends on how much fun it is when I rent/gamefly it. If not I might have to pick up a used copy of CH 2k8 again. Overall it looks like the game is on the right track, and they aren't using the exclusive licensing rights to make a sub-par, money making game. Of course none of this is really known until we play the game in a few weeks, but I am looking forward to the demo. Does anyone know if the demo is the final build of the game?

I'm 99% sure the BET was played at MSG in MM08. I'll check tonight.
