Re: GCHD Review (2.5/4)
To think that EA gave them a beta copy and they low rate the game. Wow! And the review was a few paragraphs about nothing.
Bad review! Poorly written! And what the hell is a 2.5 of 4?Comment

Re: GCHD Review (2.5/4)
this is why the only review I trust is my own. Both reviews posted here are useless. Neither gives a review with much substance.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: GCHD Review (2.5/4)
...provide very little team specific commentary, constantly spouting off the most basic of details, even after you achieve milestones like reaching the Final Four or the championship title game. In fact, you don’t even get to witness your team celebrate half the time, but instead only get to hear about your players cutting down the net. Small scenarios like this will constantly challenge your will to keep playing, especially when the sense of reward is minuscule.
Weak review, especially for someone who has spent a month with the game."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: GCHD Review (2.5/4)
I know what you're saying, but wouldn't you be pissed if you spent a month or two playing a season and finally made it to the final four or win the championship, and you don't even get to see your team celebrate? I would, and I think that's what the reviewer was trying to say. EA always takes shortcuts like this in their games, and it hurts the user. Cutscenes and commentary aren't that important, but they certainly add to the experience...and are especially distracting when done poorly. Just my two cents on the subject.Comment

Re: GCHD Review (2.5/4)
I don't mind the 1-4 scale because that site actually uses the whole entire scale, as opposed to an ign who almost never gives a score under 7...as if that part of the scale doesn't exist. At least I know that a 2/4 is average on gchd, as for ign I'm still not sure what an average score is...maybe 5..maybe 7...the whole system is screwed.Comment

To the best of my recollection, College Hoops didn't have celebrations when you won the championship.Comment

Re: GCHD Review (2.5/4)
I don't think they did either, at least not on nex-gen. I won two national titles with UConn in 2K8 and don't remember. At one point they had a 10-second clip of the coach climbing a ladder and snipping the net but I think that was 2K6 on last-gen. It's not like it was some huge, elaborate scene that left your jaw on the floor. Was it cool, sure, but nothing critical to the overall experience of the game."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: GCHD Review (2.5/4)
I would have been more skeptical if they had given it a perfect score, just because they got an early copy. I hate when sites lie to us just because they are friends with the company, or developer. But yeah, the review was short, but I'm not sure it was a few paragraphs about nothing. I managed to get loads of info out of it. Sure, it wasn't 5 pages like ign, team xbox, etc, but it told me everything I need to know. Except importing draft classes into NBA Live, how are the recruits rated, and how the Blue Ribbon feature works, but I think I saw all that in their dynasty Walkthrough Video.Comment
