Re: IGN review is up
One of the complaints were: Making subs were not easy as you had to do each one individually instead of selecting "3PT Shooters" etc.. and not knowing who your starters are makes that hard to do. Why wouldn't you know who your starters are?
The biggest hit was for [Lasting Appeal]: 6.0
No five-on-five online play, an old dynasty mode, and a new style tournament are what stick out in the way of game-extending features. This one cries out for Campus Legend.
Maybe I'm reading it wrong but it seems kind of overly harsh.
My biggest complaint would have been no multiplayer dynasty.Joshua:

"One thing that absolutely, positively needs to be removed from NCAA is the shooting mechanic which isn't tied to the timing of your button press at all. A three year old can walk and hold the shoot button and have the same chance of making it as me. Is that really fair or skill-based in any way?"
What is it based on then? Sounding not soo good IMO.PSN: sportdan30

Gotta love how those big sites know their stuff. MM07 and MM08 both came out in January.Originally posted by IGN ReviewAfter all, the collegiate season really doesn't heat up until next year when March gets a bit closer. Still, that never stops EA Sports from putting out their perennial collegiate basketball game to coincide with the beginning of the college schedule.Comment

Re: IGN review is up
I'm not putting much stock in this guy's review. Didn't he say in his review that the only college basketball game he played last year was March Madness? If so, that's enough to warrant this review as garbage for me. I'm not a 2K fan boy but College Hoops definitely was a hell of a lot better than March Madness so I don't understand how he didn't even give College Hoops a try last year.Comment

I don't think that's what he said (though I'm too lazy to go back and check). From what I recall, he just said that it was a decent game "especially if you only played March Madness last year". In other words, he was implying that the game is not as good as CH 2K8 but is a decent game nonetheless.I'm not putting much stock in this guy's review. Re: IGN review is up
Most important line in the review to me. And a good sign since game play is #1 to me. The fact that campus legend isn't in the game is not going to detract from the game. The dynasty mode isn't as good as CH2K8 but it's not bad.NCAA Basketball 09 doesn’t make the mistake of adding an over-ambitious feature like NBA Live’s DNA, but it’s also a shame to not see them incorporate some of the easier, more standard feature into the game. There’s plenty missing from NCAA Basketball 09 and the dynasty mode is need of a revamp, but the core basketball is progressing nicely and effectively borrows some of what worked in NBA Live 09. NCAA 09 needs more to warrant a purchase from basketball diehards, but newbies should be satisfied with what the game has to offer."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

My bad.....I just glanced over the article and didn't want to go back to read it again either. LOL Anyway, I'll form my own opinion on the game and will try to refrain from putting too much stock into this guy's opinion.I don't think that's what he said (though I'm too lazy to go back and check). I remember the good ol' days of buying a game and playing it without already knowing of it's bugs, glitches, and what other people thought of it. It sure made game playing a whole hell of a lot better for me. Now I try not to read the bugs and glitches threads before I even get the game but it's got that "bad car wreck" thing to it where I don't want to look when I pass by but I can't help myself.Comment

Not having played the MM series in a very long time, is the dynasty mode at all similar to what's in NCAA Football because I actually like that.Comment

Re: IGN review is up
yeah, that was pretty garbage. Umm, If I'm playing a dynasty I should know who my starters are. Campus Legend would have been kind of cool but those modes get stale fast. One of the complaints were: Making subs were not easy as you had to do each one individually instead of selecting "3PT Shooters" etc.. and not knowing who your starters are makes that hard to do. Can you turn off the tempo settings? I can see how people will complain when their ratings take a hit late in ball games because they're not pushing the ball like crazy.
I'd like to see what other games he has reviewed. Not because I don't believe him but different reviewers value parts of the game higher than others. To some, the online experience could more important than a career mode.Last edited by KG; 11-17-2008, 04:39 PM.Comment

Yeah, same here. I was never a fan of Campus Legend really. It always seemed secondary to me when compared to Dynasty Mode. I am somewhat pissed that draft classes still can't be imported. Does anyone know if you can edit draft classes in NBA Live this year?Comment
