man, I'm still undecided

man, i'm still undecided. NCAA should arrive at my house today..but i'm torn as to whether I should open it or go buy 2K8 cheaply at gamestop. I have not played a college basketball game in forever, so anything I play is going to be new and different. I'm totally a casual gamer and I'm guessing that I wouldn't notice 90% of the stuff that people on this board point out as being wrong about any game. I just know I don't give a rip about the NBA so I don't think I'd enjoy the two NBA games.....I love college basketball though, the game and the atmosphere.

Well considering EA might be the only one releasing a college basketball title, you might as well go ahead and pick it up and start becoming familiar with the gameplay which is very good IMO.

If you're a casual gamer you'll probably love this game. It's very pick up and play friendly, especially compared to CHoops.

I converted from Choops because obviously I had no choice. But since I just bought it yesterday and only played a couple of games, I can only offer this. If you are a casual gamer you will love it. The graphics are the best I've seen for a basketball game, and the gameplay is pretty decent.

Coming from Choops and NBA 2k there is alot to get used to. Not only control wise but overall depth of the game. The jury is still out for me, but I do like most of what I've seen. Playing this game cold, without anything else to compare to, I think this would be an outstanding game and it sounds like to me thats where you stand.

Seriously, I was a big 2k Hoops fan and I really love the gameplay. Its very solid and no at all like the old MM series.

Can you elaborate on this?
I love the look of the game on the demo, the graphics are outstanding, the courts, the players, the uniforms. Gameplay-wise, it didn't seem that great. Controls seem a little loose, kind of jerky motions. Also, do they have a drive cam like College Hoops? I can't get used to the broadcast or classic cams.
I will rent this soon, and if I like it, probably get it used or wait for the price to fall.

I like the direction that EA NCAA is headed but they still have another year or 2 to go before I'd recommend it as a $60 purchase...There's just not enough depth and solid gameplay for me in comparison to College Hoops 2K8.

If you can cop a copy of CH2K8 for about $20-29, I'd highly recommend it over NCAA.

However, if your just itchin to open that packaging, go for it....NCAA Basketball can be a fun game if your jonesin' for some college B-Ball


Hopefully EA will tighten the post game play and some of the quirky animations in the 360 patch which make the game more enjoyable.

not only that, but the subtle changes via the first patch have made the gameplay a bit better as well. And in my opinion, the retail gameplay is a bitter better/tighter than that of the demo.

As I've stated before this game is good on the court and solid off. Yes, there are things that need to be addressed, but its, in my opinion, worth the price of admission.
