contested shots should be missed the majority of the time with slider at 0.
Less turnovers in a trap. 30 by the cpu per game is too high.
      Improve free throw

I've got a monster list brewing.

I'll post it when it's done.

          Re: Gameplay Wishlist

          - Players still step out of bounds with no call too frequently.

          - Add in defensive animation where player slides over to protect baseline & better help D. IE: When facing a 2-3 zone, have offensive player go to corner. If/when they make a move on defender (crossover), drive the baseline and they almost always get a great shot rarely contested. Help D should roll over to stop, often putting foot on baseline to stop penetration. (Offensive player would then need to change dribble to opposite hand/direction with right stick to opposite direction. This change would not be unbeatable.)

          - It seems like there is some slight suction in regards to offensive player and double teams. I will attempt to drive around or pull away from it, but it feels like I get drawn in and must wait until CPU decides I can move away from it. IMO, it needs slightly changed but is too strong at times.

This also happens when on the break, it feels like defenders will warp or close the last step or two too quickly and close down a break. At best, they should only be in position to contend shot or drive ballhandler in another direction, not stop drive in its tracks unless it’s a slow big man on the break.

          - Playing on All-Conference it seems like the CPU shoots way too high of a percentage (~60%). May not be as simple as toning down shooting ratings, as that may drop their offensive game too much leading to less of a challenge. May require balance by improving CPU interior defense. That is where it seems most of my offense comes from, probably too high of a percentage.

          - Too many charges from simply backing defender down. Tone down just slightly. It’s good charges are called to keep players from backing down to the hoop every time, but it seems like charges are called too often. EDIT – The more I play, the more I actually like the way it is. It requires PG to get ball to post player once they have posted up, preferably close to the hoop.

          - Seems like CPU does not substitute in bench enough. Starters playing way too long, almost NBA-esque. May need to be pro-rated for half length. If gamer uses 5-10 minute halves, starters should be in most of the time. If 10-15 or longer halves, subs should definitely be in more. CPU subs come in and out too ‘perfectly.’ Many will have same minutes played. In a typical game, top reserves (6-7) get more time than the end of the bench (8-10, for example).

          - Add in injuries for human-controlled teams. Lack of feature hurts realism aspect of game.

          - Add in way to set for team to press after made baskets in addition to defense they will normally drop into..

          - Player Lock: Ability to play game as one certain position/player.

          - At halftime, before start of second half, have game go to Pause Menu so subs & strategic changes can be made, stats viewed, etc. (Like in NBA Live, NCAA Football, Madden, etc.)

          - Using on-the-fly subs and hitting R3 to close the menu will make player turn to post up. Not helpful if you are controlling a guard at the time.

          - Continue to work on the players clipping through each other.

-I'd like to see more usage of the backboard on close range/under-the-basket shots as well as fewer "perfect-swish" shots

-The ability to make right-stick moves camera-relative. For example, if I'm using broadcast camera angle and my guy is driving straight toward the basket from the foul-line and I want to quick-strike left, I should either press up or down on the right stick (depending on which basket I'm shooting at: Right side of screen=up, Left side of screen=down), not always left as it is now. I apologize if that's confusing, hopefully someone can better explain what I mean.

              Top 5? Let me see....

              1. More realistic looking inside shot variations. (sometimes the jumphooks and reverse layups look kinda funky. Player seems to float in mid air)

              2. Make some shots that "look" good miss afterall. (you can instantly tell when the shot leaves the players' hand if its going in or not. Never fails.)

              3. Brad and Dicky V. should use more names. ESPECIALLY coaches names. (Coaches are the stars of college hoops)

              4. I've never seen a tie-up of any kind. I notice you have the possesion arrow, but its never put to use.

              5. Less dunking. I'm a huge fan of the dunk. But it seems like every player in the game can dunk. Thats especially not the case in college. Small point guards should be doing layups for the most part.

That said, I still love the game.

LOL, so true. There are some real head scratchers in there. I was letting Hartford hang in there late in the first half and Dicky V said something to the effect of "Both teams knew this was going to be a battle going in and expected it to go down to the wire."

co-sign. In college ball there are usually more tip dunks than in the pros....I need this.

also. increased crowd participation/atmosphere. more noise!!!!

different variety of styles. ie, a few differently animated point guard types..( you know, maybe you have fancy dribbler/ methodical/bent over low dribbler.) some sort of way that the players aren't all just the same.

ability to change the tempo/keys to the game at the half.

                          Re: Gameplay Wishlist

First of all, thank you for taking the time and interest to create these wishlists and listen to some of our feedback. I must admit, I have been pleasantly surprised by this game.

                          1) Better ball physics. Believe me, I know that they are already leaps and bounds ahead of where they were in the March Madness series, but there is still some room for improvement. Layups off the backboard would add so much. Especially after you've come down with a big offensive rebound and you're fighting to get the ball back up on the rim/glass. Bounce passes would be great too. They are so rare. I've seen only a few in twenty plus games.

                          2) Defense: I would love to see the defenders get into a better defensive stance when you pull down on the right stick. I know that's what this is supposed to do currently, but it just seems that the player's stance doesn't change that much. I would love to see the defensive controls mapped a little differently. Right stick down = defensive stance, up = hands up, left = swipe with the left hand, right = swipe with the right hand. I think trying to take a charge should be mapped to a button.

                          3) Passing: Perimeter passing seems to be a little nonchalant by the computer. At times they just kind of toss the ball around wherever and my computer teammates don't fill the passing lanes. They just kind of stand there and let it happen. The computer A.I. makes too many skip passes. Sure, the skip pass is a big part of basketball, but it shouldn't be happening against my man to man defense as much as it does. As I stated above, I would love to see more bounce passes - on the break, feeding the post. It would just make the game feel so much better.

                          4) Shooting/Dribble Move Controls: I think these should be handled differently. I know EA has always gone with the two button approach for shooting, but I think 2K system worked much better. Using the right stick for shooting just seems so natural. Especially around the rim where you could make moving the stick to the left a left handed layup, to the right a right handed layup and so forth. It would also allow you to map the dribble moves to different buttons. Currently I don't think that the dribble moves work that well. Part of it probably is my many years of playing 2K College Hoops games and I'm still trying to get used to it, but I'm having difficulty knowing which move is coming when.

                          5) Sliders: I think there need to be some more sliders. The ones that are in the game seem to be very responsive to adjustments, I just think there needs to be sliders that effect the gameplay a little more. Like tendencies by the computer as far as trying to score inside, or shoot threes. How much the defense helps out, do the defenders play passing lanes more or sag off. Things like that.

I think this game is very cool, and a huge step in the right direction by EA (and this is coming from someone who lived for 2K College Hoops). I'm very excited to see how this series evolves. I think it's great that your team has been so pro-active in seeking input, and it shows clearly that you've been listening to what we've been saying. Thanks again.

Jab gameplay wise it sounds simple but one of the great things about ch2k8 is that the ratings play a heavy part in the game and they are tied into the animation system so well. What I mean is this in ch2k8 they have different types of players. Every 6'0 point guard is not the same. You have some who are athletic with no J. Some who are slow but great passers and ballhandlers. Some who are scorers.

When you spend time in ch2k8 scouting players its never a waste of time. If you recruit a guy high in offensive rebounds he will actually be good a getting those. It sounds simple but its something MM has never really done right.

In addition the sim and gameplay engine need to correlate. In ch2k8 if a player is a leading scorer avg 20 ppg when simming. When you play that team they really get that guy the ball. In practically every mm game ever made I have never found that to be the case consistently. I have had several instances where the guy they said is the leading scorer may take the fewest shots. This is what I mean when I say intergration. Ch2k8 is dripping with that. If you look closely at a players tendencies in 2k8 they play almost exactly to that on the floor.

How the animations are tied in is that there are so many that they have packages. So that if you playing as a smaller school and don't have top flight athletes you will see a differnce in what your players can do as you recruit better and better talent. Or when you goto a bigger school with better post players they have access to more post moves etc etc.

Anybody who has played college ball or even high school is familiar with player roles. You have the dunker. The defender, the hustler, the rebounder. The scorer, the guy who cant catch a cold but can jump out of the gym.

In 2k8 the player you recruit are like this. I have recruited a 6'7 forward who can shoot the lights out but can't defend and great defender who can't shoot but will dunk on the whole squad. Of course you also have the players who can do it all 5*'s . I hope you get the spirit of what I'm saying. Player differential is the key.

Another way they make this difference in the players is guys ocme to school with different gear some guys is high socks and knee brace some cats got elbow sleeves it helps to make them individuals.
