Time for me to retire from this game...

As the title said, it is time for me to retire from this game. I started a dynasty as Rutgers and finished the season 21-9. Had an upset win at UNC and defeated 5 teams ranked in the top 25 and only lost one game to a team outside of the top 25. NCAA Tournament times comes around and I don't get an at-large bid. No big deal because I will at least get into the NIT. Well I was wrong there as well. I didn't even get a sniff of anything post season. After the season is over, I get offered several different jobs and one in paticular intrigued me. The Nebraska job. I thought it would be fun to take over there program and try to turn it around and win the Big 12. I take over take care of recruiting and before I even have the opportunity to do anything else a screen pops up that says I have been voted out of the Big 12 and moved to the MAC. All of this is too unrealistic for me to handle and I guess I am going to have to retire this game until next year when they possibly have a better poll system and Tourney selectioin set up.

I think EA needs to re-think this whole "invited to join a conference" deal if it is going to mess with the structure of major conferences. I would rather the time be invested else where...

I understand your frustration and, if that happened to me, especially the situation with Nebraska getting kicked out of the Big 12....THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!!
          What?

Well it is not like it is a major conference like the SEC... It IS just the Big 12 and their second rate programs (ok in football at least )

Yeah, this game is pretty badly put together all around. It has a fun factor that I can't put my finger on though - if EA would get off their asses, this could be a quality game. There's so many ridiculous problems with it right now though; I really don't blame you for not playing anymore.

I can understand teams leaving and coming into conferences, but it should be after a long period of poor play. It should also only involve certain schools. Nebraska will never leave the Big 12, nor will dozens of other schools in other conferences. There should be teams that just can't be kicked out. I can see Iowa State getting the boot, but Nebraska is ridiculous.

A nice try at something that could potentially be cool, but poorly executed.

Or maybe there should be an on/off option for this case.

I agree with you completely. Basically IMO, unless your plan is to start with a school you plan on staying with then there is no point in doing a Dynasty. It does have a fun factor, but the thing I loved about 2k8 was being able to start a Closed Legacy with a lower tier team and work my way up to a better job. Well with NCAA you may think you are taking a better job but as soon as you get that job in a power conference there is a good chance you will get booted from that conference because that team wasn't any good.

The whole thing actually confused me. I thought it was a glitch in the game because I saw a couple power conference schools playing in mid-majors. Teams very rarely drop in and out of major conferences. The only thing you occasionally see is re-alignment. The rivalries between the schools is what makes college sports great. The way this was implemented, I have a hard time believing that the developers follow college basketball much.

I'm guessing this may also have to do with the rosters, but I'm not sure.

                            hey the MAC is fun!!!!!!!!
I can't believe this. EA has so many resources and they still drop the ball.

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

I was really getting into this game after giving up on it before for about 3 weeks, but after what happened to me last night I'm about ready to give up again. I have been using WVU in a dynasty (simming and playing both). After finishing the regular season at 23-7 and ranked #19 in the country, I was upset in the Big East Tournament by Seton Hall, whom I had beaten by 20 points earlier in the season. When the NCAA brackets came out, I was expecting a #6 or #7 seed possibly, especially since I had 11 conference wins. Well not only was I not a #6 or #7 seed, but I wasn't even in the field. To add insult to injury, the Horizon league got 3 teams in the tournament (Valpo, Cleveland St., and Butler). Cleveland State finished the season at 17-12 and one of those losses included a 28 point loss to me, while Valpo was 20-10. Butler won the conference tournament which meant that Valpo & Cleveland State were at-large teams. I did make the NIT and ironically my first game is against Seton Hall. WTF? The gameplay is fun but the logic behind the rankings and brackets are horrible. What fun is a season when crap like this happens?
