I'm right there with ya. I had been a dedicated 2K College Hoops fan and was really bummed with I found out they discontinued the series. I could have made the jump to NBA, but I'm a college fan first and foremost. I played the demo for NCAA Basketball 09 and decided, while it wasn't as good as 2K, I'd give the full game a shot.

Ultimately, I was disappointed and pleasantly surprised at the same time. I had played the March Madness series at a friends and it was laughably bad. So to see them ditch the series and start over again was a great idea. It was missing some great things from the 2K series: gameplay wasn't as smooth, animations weren't nearly as good, a lot of little glitches like the brackets being completely inaccurate, and the presentation was severely lacking. But, it did do a lot of good things too: Commentary was improved from 2K, game tempo was a great touch, stadiums were done better, and the college atmosphere felt stronger than 2K.

There hasn't been much said about this years version, but I've seen a few previews about NBA Live 10 and it looks like they've focused on gameplay since getting one of the 2K developers. I know last years college game used the same engine as Live with just a couple tweaks, so this years will probably be similar. As with most EA sports games I'm hoping for the best, preparing for the worst (NCAA & Madden have been let downs again) ...but if gameplay is as improved as the couple previews have commented, then it should be a solid offering this year.

I'm the same way! IMO, NCAA BB 09 was the most improved sports game last year with lots of room still to grow. I hope we can get some sort of info relatively soon on it. Live 10 looks pretty good, so I'm anxious for news.

In response to a number of comments/questions about when we will be releasing info/answering questions about NCAA 10, a tentative ball park time is somewhere mid to late September.

No, I think Sept. is right. He means that will be when they start releasing game info, sizzle videos, begin community interaction where they can actually talk about what is in game, etc.

According to EB Games, they have the release date as Dec. 1, so starting to hype the game in Sept. would be correct. Demo probably in mid-November is my guess.

Oh wow I just read the actual post. I saw the words release and I thought it was about the game itself Lol. Now it makes sense because he was talking about releasing info.

Definitely on my radar! I deeply miss the 2K College Hoops series (which was always one of my most highly anticipated games each year), but I'm very intrigued (and impressed) by the advances (esspecially gameplay, player movement, etc.) and attention to detail the Live series has taken this year. I just hope player names show up online...didn't they not last year? Pretty sure I'll give this EA effort a day in court come December (or whenever it is released).

I was going to, but I rather have a game from EA and a game from 2K this year to mix things up if I'm going to have 2 basketball games. But then again, it's not written in stone. If NBA Live really shows me something that 2K can't compete with, I may roll with them. But as of right now, NBA 2K is winning in my NBA game anticipation category (not to discount what Live is doing, hence my anticipation for NCAA since both games will play similarly).

Good deal man. I follow u now. I'm really hoping that they have a draft class feature this year. Osiris Eldridge is gonna be making waves this year for Illinois State and making a name in the Association before too long!

I am also excited for this game.I liked the tempo idea last year and the coach feedback. Also Live '10 is looking like it may beat 2k10 this year so if some of Live's new stuff like hustle plays, new dribble moves, and better rebounding then this game will be an automatic buy. My main gripe with this game though is that i cant play any game in dynasty mode. If that is fixed, then I just cant wait for this game.

You mean Synergy, the company who does the NBA Live DNA updates? No.

Blue Ribbon helped with NCAA's default overall team ratings last year and included mini team scouting reports. Individual player ratings weren't too impressive though.
