    Name Recognition by Announcers?

In CH2K8 you could type a players name in and the announcers would use the name in game, why hasn't EA adopted this yet. It's the one thing that brings this game down, you have a bunch of guys that are called by their numbers only. I know they can't "officially" name them because of NCAA rules, though 2K sports found a way to work around it. Will NCAA Basketball 10 have this feature? If not, who thinks it should?

Yeah they should, I hope they do. It adds to the presentation and the immersion. Yeah its great we have these great CBS and ESPN broadcasts but when they announce #8 or #23 it kinda takes away from it. This was a great idea by CH2k8 to put this in.

Did any of you play March Madness 07,08 or NCAA Basketball 09. They said the names when you edited the players.

Only drawback was the names were limited, they had a large database of names and only said the last names. College Hoops said 1st and Last names on the PA announcers, but play by play and color only said last names.

They have adopted it, but they need to improve it major. Why are you expecting them to say names on demo videos. This is a college game and you won't see any names in previews. That is for customers to edit, to stop legal issues.

yeah i hate that legal issues thing, though wouldn't it be possible if they just put the names and not pay every players? Like "EA will put your name in the game, but for free since we're not allowed to give you compensation." I dont know how the rules of this go but i think this makes sense.

i mean if im playing for a school and i see myself in the game, i wouldnt mind not getting paid for it...

im pretty sure that isnt the issue. i think the reason they cant use the names is because you cant make money from using the likeness of college athlete.

They do it in football. So maybe so.

They've done it in previous bball titles and I know for an honest fact that they do it in football.
