At 60.00 a pop you can bet your sweet a$$ I'll base a lot on the demo...
For me at least gone are the days of blindly buying a game because 1: its the only game in town or 2:Hype

Heck I don't even weight a lot into people I used to trust to give a user review as more and more some people are less and less critical due to the stale state the genres have gotten. After so much garbage (NOT saying this game is garbage..just making a point) year after year it seems a lot of people forget what a great game can actually be.....and focus more on if it's a better turd than last year.

That's enough for me to cancel my order.

I got really frustrated with LIVE for these reasons...

Thanks for the review + thanks to all the fellas who posted impressions and vids. I'm going to pass on this one this season.
That's just basketball man. There really isn't a lot of variety in dribble moves and post moves. Yes, everyone has a hint of different styles and ways of doing things, but there are no 3-handed dribble tricks or post moves in basketball. Very few players in the world can imitate Pistol Pete's ridiculous moves, and I really don't think you would want Eastern Michigan's point guard trying to. The lack of variety is even more true in the college game than in the pros. The foundation of NCAA BBall 10 lies in running the offense and relying on your teammates whereas in the NBA, there is more isolation and one-on-one. All I'm saying is to not cancel your order over "animation variety" because I think you will be very happy when you see how good the off-ball movement is in this game and the new motion offense feature.

I know what you are saying but.. you can not give an assesment to any game via a demo.
In regards to your 2 points, this is not the only game in town. 2k8 still sells new and is the model for progression within the ncaa series. Hype? This game was the most under marketed game that EA has ever published.

Don't discredit what some real smart guys have to say. Because for every positive in this game, you will read fixes that need to be done

I certainly can give an assesment from a demo because I choose to. Remember I'm talking about ME and my requirements. If the demo is sub par thats a chance the developer makes when releasing it. I know all the bells and whistles aren't there so I solely go off off gameplay. Again I'm not going to make a dent in their $ flow but this is how I choose to do it.
I still own 2K8 so yeah I know there is another game but my point was a lot of players don't have the want or desire to keep playing a 2-3(and growing) year old game and they start settling for the best of the worse new games.

I agree completely. I just think it is a bias towards football.

But the incompleteness of NCAA football was just as vast. Especially considering how many features are missing in NCAA football.

Can this guy please review the football games next year so OS doesn't lose even more credibility with its absolutely ridiculously high and obnoxious football scores that do not represent the OS community as a whole...

Its half baked, thats simple and plain, they got the license and did a half job on it. 2K was a better college experience with less glitches. I think NCAA basketball incorporated some nice things with authentic offenses and the CBS integration is great. However, the gameplay is what WINS gamers over and they have not produced a fluid basketball game as of yet.

I don't agree with the overall score. The game is lacking in areas and the review is good and telling the things that are wrong. The game is still fun and warrants a bit of a higher score IMO.

Do you think it's worth's like $35 bucks so we can do some rosters?

Or does the gameplay and lack of limited dynasty mode options make it pointless to work or Classic teams?

you don't like the gameplay? Just wondering, not going to call you a 2k fanboy or anything like that, but do you play 2k or Live mostly?

Btw I understand that this game deserves a six. And I don't believe in the 'This game improved how could it be lower than last years' statement.' Every year expectations increase and if it doesn't increase by how much we want we lower it. BUT...we need to now lower Maddens and NCAA Football reviews. No way NCAA is much better than this game. Also I really really like the idea of doing a Mid-Season review. Everybody loves a game at first usually, but after a while most games wear out. Only the best (The Show, CH 2K8) don't.
I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.

i couldn't even find the classic rosters...are there even any in this year's game? i did them last year for the 360, and it took forever (my son helped me - he's 9 and had fun with this, probably more than i did - LOL!!). there were a lot of mistakes in the older rosters.

i know that you would do an OUTSTANDING job on the classic teams, but there isn't much different about the player styles that makes them separate themselves. as the OS review stated, the player models are much alike (in 3 different sizes: small, medium and tall)...many faces look alike and the style of their unique skills just doesn't have any differentiation. personally, i wouldn't waste time on this if i were you...

honestly, i'm just about ready to go back to CHoops 2k8...seryn is working on some rosters (it will take some time). this game just doesn't do it for me and i shouldn't have wasted the money.
