From Meh to vastly Underrated

When I first bought this game I wasn't blown away by it. But I love college basketball and I felt like this game did alot of things right, and the Awesome ESPN and CBS Presentation kept me hooked. After some rating changes, a good slider set, and BigDMO's Appearance edits, I have fallen in love with this game.

Out of the box this game underachieves, but with the right adjustments this game becomes almost perfect in my eyes. They nail the college atmosphere, and the game. EA did alot of right things with this game, You just have to fool around with some things to get the most out of this game. And there's alot there when you do. This is kind of a appreciation thread, but also a thread to encourage people not to give up on this game. This is a great game.

I am absolutely hooked to this game and easily play 10 games per week in my dynasty. Sure there are some issues like the post play, but overall I am enjoying the hell out of this game and it will hold me over until The Show

Yeah just change the ratings and sliders and this game is good. Not great but good.

On the court I think this game is solid. Sure, there are a few gameplay issues but that happens with just about all the basketball games I have played, including 2k8 (players throwing the ball out of bounds for no reason, etc.).

With a few tweaks in dynasty mode this game could easily have had staying power. Unfortunately they may not get a chance next year.

What sliders are you using?

I am using BigDMO's sliders, they seem to be a perfect blend so far.

I was blown away from the beginning w/ this game and once you tweak some sliders ( I am using Blueandgolds varsity set) and get into the game it's a lot of fun. If EA doesn't make this game next year they are crazy.

Agreed this was a hell of a stepping stone this year. My biggese beefs with the game is not enough authentic stadiums, give us a good face tool, some more depth, minigames, and some gameplay issues and new animations. That seems like alot but it's rerally not.

All those things I mentioned could be added next year if they stick with it. They have most of it down.

I don't think they will make this game next year because it might be one of those games that gets cut by EA's downsizing, which is well-documented.

With a deeper legacy and better post play this game will be the best college basketball game of all-time. The presentation, motion offense, and graphics make this game good but not great.

To the OP, sliders and rosters do make this game better than out of the box, but it's just not enough yet. I hope they make another one next year though, they are so close...

Glad I could help you love the game. I too am loving the game. I'm in year 3 of my dynasty in the NIT right now after being left on the bubble for the tourney. I have only had this game for like a month now so being 3 years in already is pretty unusual for me.

Yea man your settings just feel right to me. I see a realistic amount of three pointers, I'm able to stomach the amount of fouls, and the post game has improved. They actually try a jump hook instead of just a face up Jumper or fade. Also seeing alot more animations branch out due to these settings. I must play about 50 games a week, no joke it's addicting.

They just added the CBS presentation to the game this year so I'm sure they are committed to making this game well beyond this year. This was a first in video games to deliver two different broadcast presentations. I'm sure they had to sign a contract for more then 1 year with CBS. I don't expect this title to end.

I feel like when the CPU feeds to the low post they will put up a shot 90% of the time, regardless of how open or how good the perimeter guys are. Plus, I don't like the controls for post play for us, there just doesn't seem to be enough and what we have is really basic.

I'd like to see better defensive controls as well, there just seems to be a good lock-on feature. In my experience with the game I just found it very difficult to play good defense consistently at any place on the court.

I do like this game and like I said, I think they are a good year off. They fix a few basic things on the court and overhaul the off the court part of the game and we have ourselves an epic game!

Hey guys. Hate to be negative, but does anyone else think that EA heard our complaints about bogus presentation in NCAAF 10 so they had the NCAAB 10 staff do alot of presentation imrovements so they can port them over?

and on the other hand, if EA doesn't implement the presentaion into NCAAF 11, all hell may break lose.
