Having this same problem. I understand there could be a systemwide issue, but I created another user on my PS3, brand new with no files stored whatsoever and got the same message. I never really thought to ask this, but can this game be played on a ps3 without being connected to the internet? All authority of any kind...is the most destructive, evil thing. Lol, I just got on here to post the same information and low and behold here it is. This is almost laughable. All of my other games are playing fine and to answer your question pickupman, no this game will still give you the same error whether online or offline.
The message I'm getting is........
Registration of the trophy information could not be completed. This game will quit. (8001050F).
Great!!!!Comment

Reason I ask that is because I am having a EA Basketball tournament with the junior high kids I coach on Friday and am going to have to take my PS3 to the school and not hook it up to the internet, but be able to play the game. Are you saying that no one can play this game offline at all? (regardless of the issue going on now)All authority of any kind...is the most destructive, evil thing. Re: trophy information registration error?
All I can tell you pickupman is once my error occurred I got offline and tried to load the game again with no success and recieved the same error (8001050F). Are you recieving and error number as well? If so, what's the number? I'm trying to figure this out. Have you tried to load the game offline?Reason I ask that is because I am having a EA Basketball tournament with the junior high kids I coach on Friday and am going to have to take my PS3 to the school and not hook it up to the internet, but be able to play the game. Before this all began I was online playing an opponent in EA NHL 2010. After dinner I came it to jump online and play someone in NCAA Basketball and I recieved the error. All my other games load just fine online or offline.
I will add though that I cannot get signed into the Playstation Network. Can you? My network connection is showing that I'm enabled but that my Playstation network connection is failing and I'm recieving the same error message (8001050F).
Get back to me....we'll try to figure this out.Comment

I'm fighting the same issue you are. The error code is the same, I can't get into PSN, but yet my download of the God of War demo is still running. From everything I can find out, this is only affecting the fat PS3's and not the slim versions. I'm sure it is only a networking issue, but what concerns me is the fact that even disconnected from the internet the games won't work. All authority of any kind...is the most destructive, evil thing. Re: trophy information registration error?
I with you there. Hopefully everything works out with your tournament at the junior high. For the life of me I'm puzzled by this situation. I don't even know if I can contact somebody about the situation. If I thought it was a PS3 error I would contact the Sony company themselves but I believe this has been brought on by the NCAA Basketball game and whatever error or virus I encourted backfeed right into my PS3 system. Now it's affecting my playstation network ability. Screwed. Maybe some new information will come out with all this. Is there away to contact the developers of the NCAA basketball game? As you can see from my number of posts I'm not a regular here.I'm fighting the same issue you are. Re: trophy information registration error?
Okay, well I don't know if you play online but I wouldn't sign in to the PSN when playing this game. Just giving you a heads up. I was playing my brother at the house earlier with the game offline and all cylinders were firing. Not anymore.
Hopefully this situation gets resolved.Comment

Re: trophy information registration error?
This is something bigger than just this game. I've been looking on google and there are a ton of forums buzzing with this issue. Games from Heavy Rain to Killzone 2, and Modern Warfare2 are all down.I with you there. Hopefully everything works out with your tournament at the junior high. Re: trophy information registration error?
Wow! This is about the only forum I buzz around. To hear about this is amazing. Something big went down, something really big. My main concern is that the game I had in there at the time my PSN went crazy was NCAA Basketball 10 and now I can no longer play the game offline. All other games are fine to play.
Do you think that whatever happened at the time of the error affected the game that was in the system?
If you hear any more info from around the gaming communties let me know. Thanks pickupman....headed to the sack.Comment
