Can I Edit Recruits with named rosters.

I apologize if this has been asked before but I searched around I couldn't find this answer exactly.

I'm using rosters from EArosters.com so I guess their DT's and I was wondering if I can just edit my incoming freshman without the freezing glitch happening? I don't want to change names or anything like that I just want to know if I can edit equipment, primarily face masks because a lot of my guys are coming in with this one :
and I absolutly can't stand it. I'm not importing players into Madden so that wont be a concern.

Also I didn't use EA Locker I got them the old fashioned way by using a memory card and the Xchange software. Also FIU has all their players in the depth chart there are no empty spaces. Not sure if those two things matter but I figured I'd throw them in there.

From what I know the glitch did'nt occur in Dynsaty mode, so you can name recruits.
