What is the issue with duplicate numbers?

Here's how you fix the duplicate number issue

STEP BY STEP

1. Identify the player who you want to have a duplicate number
2. Write down all his attributes, including ht/wt and all that stuff
3. Change him into a player that is not currently on your roster that you can add in his place.
4. Go to Create A Player
5. Enter all his attributes, including ht/wt and all that stuff
6. Put him on the team you want him on
7. Scroll through other teams until you find the number you are looking for available on another team

HERE's the IMPORTANT STEP
8. Once you locate your number on another team, scroll back to the team you want to place the player on WITHOUT LETTING GO OF THE BUTTON, if you pause to long while scrolling through each team the computer will make the adjustment on the teams uniform that shows up. In order to get the number you have to scroll to the team you want without letting the uniform change on the right until you get to your team.
9. Once your team is highlighted, scroll through the numbers and your number will appear.

Only way I know how to get duplicate numbers is to create a player, and use a small glitch in the edit screen to give that created player a number that's already on the roster. Problem is, you have a couple of players you can create per team.

Yeah, I've done this several years. It works, but you only get limited create a player spots, and there are numerous duplicate number errors on dozens of rosters. I wish EA would just give us a fix.
