Malzahn's arrogance and attitude caused him problems meshing with the coaching staff. Lots of stories floating around up on the Hill during his days.

To be quite honest, I was pissed after Auburn hired Malzahn. I was extremely upset Auburn did not have the sack to fire Jay Jacobs and take Les Snead as AD and Jeff Fisher as HC. The offer was on the table, but they were a package deal. The powers that be wouldn't do it. It wasn't until Malzahn hired his assistants that I began to become excited about the hire. I believe as a staff, Auburn hired a great one. But Malzahn himself still has a lot of proving to do. I want to see at least 7 wins this upcoming year. 8 would make me very happy.

According to this article, he's gonna be a Louisville Cardinal and eligible to play immediately
