    NCAA 14 Roster Limits

I ask this every year, but is THIS the year where the game allows you to have a FULL roster of 85 players?!?!

If its "in the game" it needs to be IN THE GAME!

Yet, somewhere around 70 players has been the max allowed and you have to end up cutting a bunch of players to make it work.

Online play, who cares, you don't need but a 2-deep to play online but Dynasty!?! I care. I want to FULLY manage a team!

And, please nobody give me the weak excuse that the game can't handle 15 more players per team. It can handle it with ease. Look at the depth of games like Skyrim for example. It can handle it. But, does EA care?

figures. Every year I have to figure out which 15 players to cut off the team.

I totally get what you are saying and I want the same thing. There is more to it though, and the game will not increase roster size until the next GEN consoles come out. EA's reasoning for the roster piece is that they only want to make one identical game for the PS3 and the XBOX. According to them, the PS3 can handle the additional roster but the XBOX doesn't have enough memory.

Therefore, they have decided to not make one version for the PS3 and a different one for the XBOX. It stinks I know, but that's what we have to deal with.

On one hand I could see in the past on the PS1, and to a much lesser extent the PS2, where limiting rosters could be a necessity because of memory card space. I don't really see any reason why EA hasn't bumped the rosters up to 85 yet other than laziness or a lack of resources trying to quantify 85 players skill levels across all the teams.

On the flip side, I've come to accept our overlord's 70 man restriction. 85 men would actually feel like too many players at this stage, although it would definitely give you a lot more wiggle room with recruiting.

              Exactly!

You know you only have 70 spots, so just recruit for that. It would be nice to have 85, but by no means is it necessary.

Not what I meant. I'm a Mississippi State fan (not Georgia). Each year I print out the latest roster I can find. I go thru and cross out walkons and count up the schol players.

This year I'm counting 83 on scholarship for 2013. I probably missed 2 but I've only looked at it once.

Then the game comes out. I load the operation sports roster when it's done and then go to the "add a player" to start adding in the players the game is missing. Can I add in every player? Nope, after 1 or 2 it says "roster is full" because I've hit 70 players.

So, that means when I start my offline dynasty (that's what I play) I will have to start it without 13-15 players on the team. I have to go thru it player by player and decide which 70 should be on the team and leave the rest out.

In recruiting I try to recruit as closely as I can to the actual recruiting class. Once I've landed my class I rename the players going by the actual MSU's recruiting class. Right now we have 14 commits - 2 QB's, 1 RB, and so on. Then I go into year 2 but here again I can't add all the recruits because of the 70 roster limit. I have to cut some.

I want to FULLY manage my team. And, I do not buy for one second the whole "XBOX doesn't have enough memory" BS. Not when I see games like Skyrim with ridiculous graphics and vast open world play.

So, as of now, I'll have to cut 13 players to start my first dynasty season. I am tired of doing that every year. Plus, 3 years into my dynasty, 5 years in, some of those 13 will be starters, main players. And, I won't have them on the game because of this.

If the game allowed full 85 then it's simply renaming them, changing the numbers, tweaking someone's abilities if they are out of whack, then playing and recruiting without the chains of a limited roster.

If it's "in the game" it should be "in the game".

                Hope that explains it.
