* I formatted the defensive template as a 3-4, they ran a 5-2 so both outside LB's would be your defensive ends.
** WR Coley is actually listed as a QB/DB. He was the teams starting punt return man. Most of Alabama's safety's were also listed as QB's.
*** Alabama ran an option attack where they featured 2 RB's a FB, TE and only 1 WR most of the time.

* FB Tommy Davis was the starting Kicker & Punter.


**In this variety of the wishbone offense the team did not utilize a true WR, I listed Billy Hendrix as a WR because of the variety of formations which a single WR is used in the game. In most cases LSU used two TE's, but would sometimes motion a halfback out to the wing or WR. They did this at times with Billy Cannon with great success.

Ed Cassidy is listed in the Wiki article as a member of the "Chinese bandit" defense, however I cannot find him on the roster.


I also noticed a #36 in some of the team photos and that number is not listed on the rosters I have found.
