NCAA Classic Roster Poll

Right now we've got 1978, and a nice "30 Years" compilation roster set from tcoaker. If anyone else has created a classic season, we don't know since NCAA doesn't have the searchable Share feature that Madden has. Above I made a poll for myself and any other roster makers considering requests as a way to gauge interest. What classic season would you most like to see?

I'd most like to see 1995, so my vote went in the 1994-1997 era.

I have 40 or so teams on a 2007 roster for last years game. Never got them converted. It is very difficult to do anything past 2000. there just isn't enough info out there to put together a nice file. The reason i went with 07 is because of how crazy the season was. And in my opinion it was one of the greatest College football seasons ever. So crazy that a 2 loss team won it all. Like I said, anything behind 2000 is being ambitious. It's hard enough when you have all the information available.

I agree, I'd love to play a 2007 roster.

Re: NCAA Classic Roster Poll

For me personally, I'd like to either start in a season like 1989 where K-State was god awful and build them back up , or in 1998 when they were one of the best teams in the country. Late 90s with McNabb, Manning, etc would be fun too.

I would honestly love to download any historical season. This 78 season is awesome and I wasn't even alive until 83.....

Another cool idea would be to set up a spreadsheet where we could edit incoming freshmen from the 79 season and on to function with the 1978 rosters. I think that would be better than anything to be able to modify incoming classes and be able to generate a REAL history for your dynasty

Re: NCAA Classic Roster Poll

what you have to do is start with a baseline for old players, ex. 1979 all rb's start at 75 ovr, then you give bonus points for different things(heisman=5, all am=4) till you get a final number say (93) then you have your excel people write a program that can take the final number and give attributes based on (communitiy imput) that final number.

ex billy sims (rb) final number 93= speed randomized between 95-99, agility randomized between 90-95 , so on and so on

research would still be hard but with an excel program a person wouldnt have to manually input a players attributes and with the radomizing, players wouldn't all be the same.

If you search the roster forum threads for 1978 it will bring up the original thread. I played 3 seasons with this roster and what I did was after a new season started I edited the freshman to match a corresponding draft class. For example at the start of the 79 season I changed the top freshmen to the players that were drafted in the 83 draft. Was fun to see where the players ended up. Or someone good at draft classes could hook us up!!

Re: NCAA Classic Roster Poll

With the editor, is it possible to edit recruits in the game? For example, during preseason, could we go in and adjust each of the top recruits at every position to create that freshman class and have their correct hometowns etc? This would give us a chance to have kids end up at different places and still give an advantage to their true in state schools
