Buffeye 2014 Re-Rated Roster For XBOX 360

UPDATE 2-21-2015: Updated Roster uploaded to EA Locker (ArtD01). All previous changes still in effect. This update includes the reversal of Coach Offense Tendency data, found in the EDIT COACHES OFFENSIVE STYLE option. Now, when you click on the Right Side Arrow in the Run Offense/Pass Offense option to increase the White Slider value to the right, you will see the Left Side Number increase. Moving the White Slider to the Right increases Run Tendency and moving it to the Left Increases Pass Tendency. The Slider function has not changed - only the display of the two numbers to be consistent with the numbers depicted for the other tendency sliders.

I have just uploaded my re-rated version of Buffeye's 2014 NCAA14 Roster for the XBOX 360. The baseline for this re-rated Roster is Buffeye's 2014 Roster which I downloaded on 12-28-2014. All ratings for all players on all teams have been re-rated, based upon formulas which I have developed and implemented via the Editor and Excel.

This Roster can be downloaded from my Locker under Gamertag "ArtD01". If I update any of these ratings, I will post a note at the top of this Original Post location to indicate the nature and date of the update.

My ratings strategy is built upon the following factors:

1. Overall lower ratings.

2. Compressed ratings ranges, with no rating lower than 46.

3. Emphasis upon critical ratings for each Player Position.

4. De-emphasis of ratings which are not important to each Player's Position.

These ratings were developed to enhance play in Coach Mode, based upon my views of what constitutes interesting game play. No consideration has been given to accuracy of statistics or how teams might perform under Arcade-style play. I do not plan to use this Roster for Dynasty play, although I may attempt a Single Season with this Roster.

Comments are welcome, especially by other Coach Mode players.

Many thanks to Buffeye and others who did the work to develop this Roster. My re-ratings are in no way intended as a critique of their efforts in rating players for this Roster.

I am just starting to play NCAA. I just bought it, I only watched NFL for the past 3 years so College is new to me this year. I want to ask is this as roster with current players and depth charts?

This is a re-rated version of Buffeye's 2014 Season Roster - which means that the Roster contains players from the 2014 NCAA season just completed. Example: Blake Sims at QB for Alabama.

All my Play Sliders are set to 50. Penalty Sliders are set to numbers around 50.

I did not create the Roster - that extensive body of work was done by Buffeye and several of his compatriots and appears to have taken a number of months to complete. I waited until their work was done, then downloaded their complete roster and applied my re-rating strategy.

When someone completes a 2015 Season Roster, I will probably perform a similar custom rating strategy. Until then, I will continue to experiment with Buffeye's 2014 Season Roster and probably post some updated ratings as I play Coach Mode games.

I started a Dynasty with this roster (which I love so far in Play Now!). I want to export the rosters and depth charts into another Dynasty that already has an updated 2014 Schedule.

However, when I try to load it into the Dynasty Editor, if gives me an error message (Object reference not set to an instance of an object). The Dynasty loads into the Generic Editor just fine, but I like the import/export function on the Dynasty Editor for moving rosters from one Dynasty to another.

Any ideas what may be causing this?

I have not yet created a Dynasty with my re-rated Buffeye Roster, so I cannot duplicate your actions. However, try this approach as an alternative way to manipulate this Roster in the Dynasty Editor:

1. Open my re-rated Roster (the original one you downloaded from my Locker) in the Generic Editor.

2. Use the Editor's "Save As" function to save the Roster to a new file name with an ".MC02" file extension.

3. Open the newly named Roster in the Dynasty Editor. It should open successfully.

Perhaps you can then use the Dynasty Editor's function to move this Roster into another Dynasty.

Or, you might be able to deduce what has changed when you entered the Dynasty mode to use my re-rated Roster.

One possibility might be the fact that my re-rated Roster contains some ratings above 99. You can see these high ratings in the Editor, but not in the game. It is possible that these above-99 ratings somehow affect things when you create a Dynasty.

I hope the above suggestions help.

Attached is a Compressed version of the base roster file. Unzip it and use Modio 3 to retrieve it and add it into the game.

I've been tinkering with things on how to get more KR/PR touchdowns and wondered if raising defenders blocking ratings would help, since they are the ones that default to play on the return teams.

I can assure you the Kick Return rating has no factor on the player ability to return kicks for TD's or even long returns during actual gameplay.

That has more to do with Sliders than anything...

Specifically the Tackle slider in general.....I have witnessed several long punt returns and Kick off returns even for TD's with a lower tackle setting

Posted several videos in the slider forums of those plays happening even with players who weren't even rated very high with the actual Return rating or Speed rating.

In both Madden and NCAA Football the most overrated slider in those games is the tackle slider....

The best animations on the field seem to trigger when you lower the slider.

That's just my 2-cents when it comes to special teams returns in NCAA Football.
