Knockdown Slider

From what i'm reading in various slider posts folks seem to still think that the 'knockdown slider' affects DB play...

I don't think it does...

I am of the opinion that, like Madden, the slider affects how many passes will be knocked down by the defensive line...

I played Madden for two years under the assumption that DB play was affected by this slider and was part of a number of threads that debated this point on both OS and MM...

BlyGilmore finally sloved this issue by reprinting a portion of the Madden PC manual that clearly stated that the KND slider affected DL 'swats' ONLY...

I assume that because EA makes both titles, that the same is true of both...

And as a result, the NCAA '06 KND slider is about the DL NOT the DBs...

Any thoughts?

That is incorrect. If you use one of my sliders and set INT/KNDWN to 25/75 they will try to defelct the pass before intercepting it. The Manual he printed probably refers to an older version of the game. Which that was the case. But it's been changed now.

Don't want to be difficult...but other than by observation...how do you KNOW it's been changed?

Has there been any mention of this in the manuals or guides for '06?...

Thanks for entertaining my curiosity...

Looking forward to trying your slders, Playmaker!!!

within the game itself a description of what each slider does is given when you highlight it.

Yes, the in game description of the sliders has finally put this debate to rest.

The DB camp has won this arguement.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Too bad that DB's, even with Knockdowns at 100, can't raise their arms above their damn heads or even leave the ground in order to attempt to knockdown a pass.

You know it's the equipment managers fault yes? He put lineman shoulderpads in the DB lockers, and vice-versa. Hence the DB arm restrictions and the DL's wussy tackling stats. Thats why I fired my default EA equipment guy and replaced him with a slider manager from MIT.
