Arrow Arichzona - 7 minute Heisman set

Final? No. We all know that not set is truly without future tweak, and I thrive on feedback when I think a set is close (even though we are all @ different levels). Bottom line is that All-American is just too easy when the cpu side of the slider set doesnt matter.

As much as I hate throwing another set onto a board full of sets I am seeing a lot of stuff that I like here so I am tossing them out there.

The biggest being that a "C" level team has to play near perfection to beat an A or B level, unless that A or B team turns the ball over or you call a perfect game. I am also seeing that when I use a weaker team I do not feel helpless trying to move the ball.....there are tiny successes that give me that "maybe I can win this" feeling and reward playing smart.

On the flip side of that if you happen to be that A or B team and can't hold onto the ball you really have no chance of winning - as you should not (usually).

* cpu is successfully running (great backs can/will run free)
* pass % is realistic (enough)
* ypg on both sides reflects the different grade levels positively
* defensive stars play like defensive stars (user and cpu)
* breakaway speed is (not as) deadly
* stops on "D" feel rewarding

Here you go.....try them, shoot holes in them, or like them.

OFFENSE:
30 - I know it doesnt 'matter' but CPU is @ 40 (placebo for me)
10
0
40 - wild spins are more tame, and super speed is lower

DEFENSE:

SP.TEAMS:

PENALTIES:
default except:
facemask @ 100....(yes it is called as opposed to an animation)
Hold@ 95 hold@95
Clip @ 65
False St/Offsides @ 90

Re: Arichzona - 7 minute Heisman set

One week later, I too have tried approximately 574,256 different combinations trying to get something to give me consistent, and deserved results only to come back to the ones I posted one week ago today.

I am one week more familiar with the game and still; bad teams dont beat the good ones (unless the good teams play like garbage...i.e. turnovers). Against the real top notch QB's I have seen some higher than I would like comp%'s but not too many grabs I can argue with. What I am really liking is that the exploits on our end are harder to........well....exploit. Do crossing patterns still work? Yes. Do they turn into monster gains if I am using CMU vs Ohio St? Not even close.

Just finished another great game (even though I lost); Vandy(C rated) vs BC (B rated), at BC....final was 20-3. Impact players still provide the punch for both me and the cpu. Why was it a great feeling game? I never felt like I was just getting pummeled - I could move the ball, I just could not finish....BC moved the ball but sometimes I held my ground due to the right (lucky) plays being called.

I did update the special teams sliders in order to shorten the length of punts and give coverage a sporting chance..... any takers?

Re: Arichzona - 7 minute Heisman set

Yeah I tried yours out Arichzona..kind of surprised that I'm the first one but they worked great for the one game I played.

Wake (me) @ Arkansas (same ratings across the board).
6 Min Quarters

17-14 Wake

Skinner (WF) 13-19 124 yds 2TD 2INT (68%)
Dick (ARK) 12-22 135 yds 1TD 0 INT (54%)
Adams (WF) 22 / 74 Yds 3.3 Avg
Curtis (ARK) 10 / 49 Yds 4.9 Avg

It was a good game. Both teams were equally matched ratings-wise and the game turned out well - like you mentioned in your first post. Both picks were my fault and I was happy to see the lower CPU completion percentage. The running game was used nicely but unfortunately not enough (on 6 minute quarters..I'll try your suggestion of 7 minutes next).

They worked well for me so far! Thanks for posting them..next I'm going to play a powerhouse to better get a feel for them.

Re: Arichzona - 7 minute Heisman set

I just played Clemson (at Clemson).

Harper (Clem) 22-26 238 Yds 1 TD 1 Int (84%)
Davis (Clem) 4 Attempts for 12 Yds
Spiller (Clem) 2 Attempts for -1 Yds

Clemson finished with 7 rushing attempts for -21 yards.
I did get 5 sacks, however.

I won 28-21.

It was a good game; Clemson pretty much shut me down offensively but I never felt hopeless. Four rushing attempts by Davis? Horrendous - but I know that sliders have nothing to do with that (at least not gameplay sliders).

Not a pretty game, however.

Re: Arichzona - 7 minute Heisman set

just had another "as expected" game:

Vandy(me/c+) vs #3LSU (cpu/a+)

Not pretty but here they are.......

........................lsu..........vandy
score.................45............14
total yds............461...........205
rushes...............50/240.......22/23
passing...........17/23/221....10/18/182

*I tossed three picks
*their stud HB carried 31 times for 190
*I could not do squat as my "c" line went against their
92 avg line & LB's.....(my 89 HB cant move when his line gets killed).
*3rd down % was LSU 46%......Vandy 40% as I obviously could
not stop their running attack they ate up the first 5 minutes
of the 1st qtr before scoring after 14 plays

one of those times that it just felt right to get your a** handed to you.
