Re: varsity sliders

It shouldn't matter how great a thumb jockey you are, if you're using a D-rated team there is no way in hell you should be able to keep up with an A-rated team. But on All-American it seems it's always possible to beat an A-rated team with a much lesser team because of the AI boost to all players.

Re: varsity sliders

I played several games on AA, and it just seems a bit too tight at times, like I'm just waiting for a mistake to happen. I bumped it down to Varsity for a game and it was much more open. The CPU even played better as well on offense.

Re: varsity sliders

I think that on varsity you can take the best player and give him a D-rated team and he'd have almost no chance at beating an A-rated team.

Re: varsity sliders

it was 3am and my eyes were bledding (stayed up to defend BlockO and eventually get his rosters) but I set everything to Varsity default. I still have work to do but I really believe Varsity is the right level this year.

I made a very successful set of sliders a few years ago for Madden on "Pro" level. Lots of people eventually migrated to them and liked them.

It sounds like a hit to the ego to say: "I play on Varsity" but what I saw in my short time with it last night/early am makes me think that's the level where the ratings matter

Can we get a base set of varsity sliders?

Re: varsity sliders

I've played a couple of games on varsity and have got good results.

All i've changed so far is -

INT - 0 for both teams

PASS BLOCK - 0 for both teams - Getting sacked a lot and getting to the cpu qb.

PASS RUSH - 100 for both teams

QB ACC - 40 for human

RUSH DEF - 30 for human to give the cpu a better running game

These are very much just a base for me and i'll try some more but they seem to work really well.

Re: varsity sliders

Anyone try sliders at 0?
I tried this with NHL 09 last year and it seemed to pretty much do what I was hoping which is let the ratings do their job rather than give an artificial boost through sliders and difficulty levels.
It seemed to separate the stars from the average players.
Not sure how it would translate into this game though. I don't own the game so I couldn't say.
