accurate r/p sliders for 2010 (work in progress)

alright, so i wanted some accurate r/p ratios for 2010 like hook'em horns (i think that is correct, sorry if not) did for 2009.

so far i have the real-life r/p ratios for all teams straight from ncaa official website, and adjusted for sacks allowed.

i also have all the coaching changes for this year, but have not adjusted for those yet.

what i dont have is the sliders that will make these accurate for the game, and i will be working on that over the next several weeks, using hookem's 09 as a base.

please, if you would like to have these, do some tests on your own. use hookems as a base. link is above. EDIT: im an idiot, link is not above, it is here (scroll half way down page for his post)

also could use some help on what ratios for new coaches/coaching changes should look like.

i.e. mullen at miss st should be similar to fl, since he was ocoord at fl.

what i dont have is the sliders that will make these accurate for the game, and i will be working on that over the next several weeks, using hookem's 09 as a base.

please, if you would like to have these, do some tests on your own. use hookems as a base. link is above. EDIT: im an idiot, link is not above, it is here (scroll half way down page for his post)

also could use some help on what ratios for new coaches/coaching changes should look like.

i.e. mullen at miss st should be similar to fl, since he was ocoord at fl.
Looks good, keep us posted.

Do these help just for sim or do they help when actually playing the computer?

Re: accurate r/p sliders for 2010 (work in progress)

Hey Harninater

I wanted to post the sliders I came up with so you can take a look.

I have updated the list below to reflect the changes for NCAA10. I used the run/pass ratio's adjusted for sacks for each teams complete season stats. I have also reflected all of the coaching changes for the upcoming season which I explained in a previous post.

From what I can tell EA did a good job making the slider directly correlate to the % of passes a team will throw during the season. So if you set the slider at 40 then the team should be expected to throw 40% passes and 60% runs. After simming multiple seasons with multiple sliders these sliders have been pretty accurate.

One thing to note is the extremes such as sliders under 30 or over 70 do not seem to be as accurate but there are not many teams with run/pass ratios that high.

Also, the lowest you can go is 15 which still didnt give me the results I was looking for option teams that run the ball 80-90% of the time (i.e. Air Force, Navy, G-Tech) With that said each of these teams are put to 15 which usually results in a 75/25 run/pass ratio which isnt bad.

NOTE: To change a rating from an off number(47, 48, 53) to an on number(45,50,55) take the slider all the way down to 15 then back up by 5's to whatever number is required. Hope that makes sense.

If you are getting different results please post.

On that same page where we input run/pass ratios, it gives us the option for substitution rate. Has any one messed with it?
