mudtiger 360 2010 slider log

*updated 9/7. Hopefully close to done. Last values on the line are current.

xbox360, 2010. At it again.

See

for the previous years if you want to get an idea what this will be about.

To sum it up, this is a log for me so I can keep track of slider changes, kick ideas around, and maybe toss out some complaints about the game. Feel free to post suggestions about slider changes or games you've played using these. Please post stats if you do try these and post though.

I'll start on AA, but as in previous years I may give varsity or heisman a try if I get frustrated by AA.

Goals: I want to hit something close to the real life average number of plays per game - 60-75 per team, but not have games drag on or have scores inflated.. I want to hit something close to the real life average yards per run and pass. I want games to be challenging for me playing as Air Force. I run the ball a lot as AF. Tuning the passing game for me means upping incompletions so I struggle to hit 60%. Most years this means lowering the catch slider.

Year to year, the usual way this goes is trying to find a way to make the cpu more effective running the ball while decreasing their passing ability.

I play anywhere from 9-11 minute quarters. Please don't post here and moan about that being too long. If you don't like it, don't play quarters that long. I don't care.

I generally like to play 3 to 5+ games and look at average stats when making changes to sliders. I'm tuning for averages, not game to game...but sometimes you just have to fly by the seat of your pants. Specially this year because I don't want a 6 week run up tuning sliders before I start my dynasty.

Anyways, on to the show.

After playing some games pre-patch, here's what I'm gonna start with for better or worse. These will change, no doubt about it. Stats will get posted as I play.

All American, 10 minutes
Penalties
off 100
fst 100
hld 70 --->50
fmk 55
dpi 55 ---->100
opi ---->75
The rest at 50.

Offense hum/cpu
qba 10/10 --> 25/40 --->25/45
pbk 50/50 ---->35/35
wrc 40/50 --->40/40
rba 50/50
rbl 50/50 ---->45/50

Defense hum/cpu
pcv 50/50 ---->70/50
prs 55/50 ----->50/50
int 0/0
rsd 5/40 ----->25/45
tkl 50/50 ------> 40/50 --->50/50

Special hum/cpu
fgp 0/35
fga 0/45
pp 0/45 --->5/50
pa 0/50
kop 65/65

I was wondering when this slider log was going to kickoff. I followed your's previously and will be following again this year.

As for the bold, I agree with you. I play 9 minutes right now too and love it.

Re: mudtiger 360 2010 slider log

Thanks fellas. I was seriously considering not purchasing this year, but ODogg's impressions but got me. So far I'm enjoying the game.

First full game with the above sliders.

Playing as Air Force Academy against #19 TCU. I should get murdered unless I get some breaks.

TCU - 07 - 14 - 14 - 07 -- 42
AFA - 07 - 00 - 00 - 03 -- 10

TCU
off 274
rsh 24-114
pas 11-17-160
pen 5-35
plays 41

QB Dalton 10-16-168, 3td, 1int, 62%, long 54, sacked 3
HB Turner 18-117, 6.5avg, 1 TD, long 41
WR Young 5-74rec, 2 TD, long 74
WR Kerley 3-47rec, 1 TD, 102yd kick return for TD

RE Broughton 13 tkl, 2 sk

AFA
off 291
rsh 62-203
pas 8-17-88
pen 8-65
plays 79

QB Jefferson 8-17-88yds, 1td, 47%, sacked 3, 15-27rush
HB Clark 25-126, 5.0avg, long 28
HB Stephens 18-39, 2.1avg
TE Demerath 2-26rec
WR Hemphill 1-21rec

LB Morris 7TKL,
DT Larson 7TKL, 2sk

...and that's the result I was expecting. TCU was dominant in all 3 phases of the game as they should be.

The stats are so-so. Only 120 total plays. That just doesn't cut it. I'm going to have to start calling my plays a bit quicker to match the cpu tempo so we're a bit more even in plays. I'll be keeping an eye on play totals.

One thing I really liked is that with the huge lead late in the 3rd, CPU TCU started to chew the clock by running consistently. The problem is I didn't see them doing the chew the clock thing. They ran, but snapped the ball quickly so I still dominated t.o.p. which kind of threw off the cpu's total yards on offense.

Penalty totals were decent. CPU completion % was realistic. It wasn't an interception fest. I was pretty happy.

I'll take on an even team, then a weaker team without any slider changes, and then take a look at the averages.

Good to see this up again. I followed it all of last year. Now that sliders are finally working properly, it will be exciting to see the changes in the gameplay.

Re: mudtiger 360 2010 slider log

An even matchup - Colorado State plays against AFA(me). This game could produce anything - blow out, close one, defensive struggle, or a shoot out.

CSU - 00 - 07 - 06 - 00 -- 13
AFA - 07 - 03 - 00 - 00 -- 10

CSU
off 308
rsh 36-130
pas 16-35-178
pen 2-20
plays 71

QB Kubiak 16-35-178, 1td, 45%, long 22, 1sk
HB Gaye 19-83, 4.3avg, 4-59rec
HB Square 6-35, 5.8avg
WR Gardner 4-50rec

LB Kubiak 15tkl

AFA
off 257
rsh 52-182
pas 6-14-75
pen 4-28
plays 66

QB Jefferson 6-14-75, 1int, 42%, 0 sk, 11-54rsh
HB Clark 25-50, 2.0avg, 1td
HB Stephens 14-77, 5.5avg
WR Hemphill 2-36rec

LB Falgout 11tkl

Total plays 137

A defensive struggle. It really felt like CSU came out in the 2nd half and had my number. I no longer could get consistent yards on the ground. CSU did just enough to eek out the win.

I tried to speed up my pace and snap the ball with about 10-15 seconds left on the play clock, instead of 5 or less. Play totals were much better.

Total offense is weak. Run and pass yards need a boost. Penalties were a bit low this time, but some variety is nice.

Things I'm thinking about changing as I go into my 3rd game with these sliders:

lower pass accuracy + raise catch - I'd like to see a few more off target passes and fewer drops. Completion % may actually be too low.

increase pass rush for hum

increase ability to run for human (small amount) and cpu (bigger amount)

..will play against army next, then average the stats from the 3 games and decide on some initial changes.

Re: mudtiger 360 2010 slider log

Up against Army, a team I should beat on average.

ARM - 00 - 14 - 00 - 07 -- 21
AFA - 00 - 07 - 03 - 06 -- 16

ARM
off 320
rsh 40-230
pas 7-14-90
pen 7-65
plays 54

QB Bowden 7-14-81, 50%, 3sk, 14-72rsh, 5.1avg, long 68
HB Fletcher 11-106, 9.6avg, 2 TD, long 58
WR Barr 3-56rec

LB Shinda 15tkl

AFA
off 343
rsh 52-264
pas 8-17-79
pen 9-78
plays 69

QB Jefferson 8-17-79, 47%, 0 sk, 13-34rsh
HB Clark 21-80, 3.8avg, 1td
HB Stephens 16-143, 8.0avg, 1td, long 56
TE Demerath 2-21rec

LB Falgout 6tkl, 2tfl

total plasy 123

Not a bad game. I had a final drive with time running out, but dropped a td in the endzone in single coverage.

Averages after 3 games....

per game averages human/cpu
ppg 12/25
off 297/300
pass 81/142
rush 216/158
int .33/.33

total passing
hum passing - 22-48, 46% (avg per game 7-16)
cpu passing - 34-66, 51% (avg per game 11-22)

ACTUAL 2007 AF stats af/opp (don't feel like calculating 2008 stats)
ppg [29.9/21.1]
off [419/368]
pass [119/232]
rush [299/136]
fumbles lost [1.6/1.6]
int thrown [.39/1.1]

passing avg [10-16.5, 61%, 119 yards]
opp passing avg [19-32.76, 58%, 232]
xxx

FORGOT -
hum 57 yds in penalties per game
cpu 40 yds in penalties per game

This seems about right for an average.

Interesting. My run game actually needs a boost while the cpu run game is slightly overpowered. I need another 50-100 yards per game.

completion % needs to come up for both to 55-60%.

Cpu passing needs almost another 100 yards per game.

The cpu kick off return is overpowered (because my guys all fall down), so that could lead to lowered cpu yards per game because they always start with decent field position.

Ideas.....
lower pass accuracy + raise catch - completion % is too low and too many dropped passes. Pass yards are too low. Lower qba, raise wrc hum/cpu. If completion % is still too low after this, consider raising qba.

increase pass rush for hum??? - I will hold off on this for now. I wasn't really concentrating on sacks. I got them, but I didn't feel like I really put pressure on any qb. I'd like to raise this, but I don't want to increase sacks right now. I'm thinking a small raise will be needed at the very least though.

increase ability to run for human - raise human run block + consider lowering cpu rush defense, lower cpu run block + lower human rush defense to offset (hopefully to combat the kickoff return guys on my team falling down and giving up TD returns..
