Re: Statistics in Sliders 2011

Great sliders, and thanks for the great research and explanations. I was playing with 0 threshold set for 2 seasons, decided to try these out of boredom. I really like the feel of 60 threshold. I play on slow game speed, and slow combined with 60 really captures the explosiveness and speed of college fb. I've made a few minor tweaks to adjust my skill level, but overall these are great set that don't need much modification.

One question about the knockdowns. It seems no slider set can fix the insane LB and DE reactions in pass coverage. It's pretty annoying when 250lb LBers will jump backwards against the direction of their momentum to swat a ball.

I experimented with cpu interceptions at 0. I actually didn't notice a reduction in interceptions. However I observed the cpu was less reactive to balls in the air. How did you arrive at interceptions at 20? What does this slider effect? I will try at 10 and 0 for a few more games.

I play on slow, and they play fine. I love the animations on slow.

Re: Statistics in Sliders 2011

Speed shouldn't change the sliders I performed a previous test that showed slow speed doesn't change player interactions. I personally find it too easy to pass on slow, but to each their own.

With regards to interceptions this number was through game testing. I altered it repeatedly to get an average of 1-2 interceptions per game. Interceptions are still too often in some situations (warping to the ball) and dropped to oftenin situations that warrant an interception. If you want less knockdowns I did fix this previously. It is controlled by the pass coverage slider. However, fixing this caused to many yards per catch as the defenders were way out of position. Generally on these sliders there aren't all that many knockdowns of the CPU only bad player passes.

Incidentally for anyone still using this check the front page. I have slider changes for year 4 and beyond that I am going to post tonight (the game changes remarkably once default rosters are gone).

Pass blocking: 50/50
WR catching: 35/45 (gives expected 3-4 drops per game)
RB ability: 55/75
Run blocking: 50/40
Pass coverage: 55/50
Pass rushing: 50/60
Interceptions: 20/35
Rushing defense 100/40
Tackling: 45/45
FG power: 50/50
FG accuracy: 60/40
Punt power: 50/0
Punt accuracy: 50/50
Kickoff power: 15/0

Offsides: 70
False start: 100
Facemask: 55
Holding: 55 (Too many holding calls on kickoff and punts, this needs to be fixed EA; almost all penalties are on kicks which is just wrong; however this is the only way to get enough penalty yards)
Clipping: 50
Roughing passer: 100
Roughing kicker: 100
Kick interference: 100
Off pass interference: 100
Def pass interference: 100

They are broken by the designers. I don't know of anyway to fix this issue.
