Squid's close to Default AA Sliders

I posted these on NCAA strategies. Close to default sliders

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last year I played on Heisman, but this year All American plays well out of the box now that the cpu can consistently run the ball. I think these sliders are fine for folks who like All American as it is but just want to help the CPU run game a bit more.
OK these are the sliders so far on All American.

Updated: September 18, 2010

If you use these sliders in your offline dynasty you might like these coaching sliders found in this OS thread. Big thanks to Oraeon1224 and whoever else contributed to these sliders. I use these in my offline dynasty. Unfortunately I can't use them in Online Dynasty. They help cut down on the computers 7 and 8 man blitzes. Occasionally they will still do it, but its cut down by a lot.

Im thinking about trying these. How are the sacks both way? And what do you use for auto-subs?

I changed the speed threshold back at 50. I got the cpu run game where I want. So the speed thresh hold back at default helps the cpu pass defense a bit more than at 40. Both are playable, just depends on how you look at things.

40 is good if you think there should be the disparity in speed between elite athletes and average athletes. 50 will help keep the Yards after Catch stats from being too crazy.

For the QB I leave it at default of 60 out, 80 in.

The rest I changed to sub out at 75, and sub in at 80.

I play defensive end and get about 1.5 sacks myself on average for a season. You can get decent pressure if you send some guys. If you play safety you can't just rely on a 4 man rush to get pressure all the time.

Then again the current pass protection helps keep the CPU QB's competitive and as a whole keeps the game competitive.

I really like the cpu run game with these. Helps keep their drives going and chews up clock.

If you can get a decent cpu run game it solves a
lot of game play issues.

I also have my own house rules.

I don't mess with defensive line game plan, I leave it at default. I don't run commit. I also recently decided not to pass commit. Helps the cpu a bit.

I moved speed threshold to 45.

I reduced human pass coverage to 45.

I reduced human interceptions to 0.

This has helped the computers pass game, coupled with their run game they have a pretty solid offense.

Squid,

Its trevorjt7...

Are these the sliders you are using for this years dynasty???

I am currently using SN's, but your sliders are consistent with my gameplay...

Let me know if they are final, or if you are still tweaking..

These are the sliders we're using for the online dynasty. All I really did with the AA sliders was boost up the cpu's running game. I also lowered their ability to make interceptions and I helped their receivers a tad bit with speed threshold and slight downgrade in pass coverage.

It plays a good game. I'll have to use SN's updated special teams sliders for season 2 and beyond, as the kickers aren't so good season 2 onward. For season 1 the original special team sliders SN came up with are good.

Re: Squid's close to Default AA Sliders

I played a few play now games and noticed a few things with the cpu.

One is that EA increased their inherent pass accuracy and their ability to lead receivers, for both sides. Second I think they tried to compensate for this by making the corners jam a bit harder and the defensive line come in a bit faster.

So what I did was lower the QB accuracy for both sides so it felt like it did before the patch. I toned down the cpu pass jamming and defensive line rush. I also toned down its rush defense as psychic corners would immediately leave the receiver and go after the ball carrier right at the snap of the ball.

I also gave a slight increase to user pass rush and user run blocking.

I made field goal power 20 for both sides. To give you perspective an 84 kick power kicker barely missed a 51 yarder with field goal power at 20. So with the steroids EA gave to kickers I think this is fair. All other kicking sliders I put back to default.

So:

Hum/CPU

QB accuracy: 35/35
Run blocking: 55/65
Ball Carrying: 50/55
Pass coverage: 50/45
Pass Rush: 55/45
Interceptions: 0/30
Rush Defense: 40/45

FG Power: 20/20

Everything else is at default for kicking game.
Everything else not mentioned is at default.

This is for Patch #2 and Tuner Pack #2

Re: Squid's close to Default AA Sliders

I had to make a few tweaks to the sliders to help out the CPU.

One of the keys to making sure our points stay under control is having good ball control offense from the CPU.

So that even if they have to punt they chewed up a bit of clock in the process. This minimizes 3 and outs. If the cpu has too many 3 and outs then the user has too many possessions, which leads to too many points.

So I lowered human run defense to 30 as the D linemen were peeling off their blocks too much when it was at 40. I kept cpu run block at 65, at 70 it was a bit too good.

I increased QB accuracy for both sides to 40. The cpu needed the slight boost for its short and medium passing game. Also to compensate for the slightly increased pass rush it experiences.

Pass coverage for both sides is again 45. Field goal power for humans is 20, for CPU its 25. Every other kicking stat is at default.

I also lowered speed threshold from 45 to 40. That way there's a tad bit more separation for the cpu to make passes and gain yards on the ground.

So:

Speed threshold: 40

Hum/CPU

QB accuracy: 40/40
Pass blocking: 50/45
Run blocking: 55/65
RB ability: 50/55
Pass coverage: 45/45
Pass Rush: 55/45
Interceptions: 0/30
Rush Defense: 30/45

FG Power: 20/25

Everything else is at default for kicking game.
