Mwolfe's Better Defense Trial

Update 12/7/10
So far I been having good results with these so far. Only time you need to feel a little worried is when the CPU goes 5 wide because all you can do is cross your fingers and hope the player drops the ball.

Skill - Heisman
Recruiting Level - Heisman
Quarter Length - 9 min
Game Speed - Very Slow
Speed Threshhold - 0

Hum
QB ACC - 10
P-BLK - 15 - gives off the right amount of protection you need to throw
WR-CTCH - 45 - increase by 10 to manage the number of drops from recievers and Backs which seems to have increase significantly for some reason unexplained.
RB ABIL - 100 - Its a big change but your runner will feel more fluid
R-BLK - 15 - changed the rush d to accommodate the different offense styles
P-COV - 95 - The CPU will still burn you if you pick the wrong D
P-Rush - 35 - increase the four man rush slightly
INT - 20 - change because of to many easy drop ints(I do not use User Catch)
Rush-D - 5 - you are now forced to make the decision to play the run or play the pass
Tak ----- 75 - This is to enable you to tackle the CPU but still watch them break some tackles but not all tackles also with the CPU Run Ability at 100 you will see the QB shrug off some would be sacks to try and keep the drive alive.
FG-Pow 0
FG-Acc 55
P-Pow - 50
P-Acc -95 - set because for sucky kickers in recruiting
K-Pow - 55

CPU
QB ACC - 10 - dropped to avoid the Robo QB
P-BLK - 15
WR-CTCH - 40 - increased by 5 from 35, still gives recievers a chance to catch the ball and keep QB's in about the 60% range of accuracy
RB ABIL - 100 - watch as great runners explode and great receivers make move in the open and great QB's shake of some would be sacks.
R-BLK - (55 - 60) 55 is used for teams with Pro PB , 60 is needed for Spread, Oneback, and Option PB
P-COV - 95 - Keeps you honest don't force the pass
P-Rush - 10 - increased CPU pass rush slightly to keep you having only 2-3 seconds to make a decision
INT - 5
Rush-D - 10 - works for all offenses if user block is at 15
Tak -75 - this will help off set the user RB Ability at 100 you will still be able to bust tackles but not all tackles.
FG-Pow - 0
FG-Acc 55
P-Pow - 50
P-Acc -95 - set because for sucky kickers in recruiting
K-Pow - 55

Re: Mwolfe's Better Defense Trial

Here are some of the Players stats after the first game I attempted this

Bay - R. Griffin - 102.4rating - 7comp - 19att - 109yds -1tds - 0int -36%com

Mich - D. Robinson - 152.9rating - 21comp -28att - 205yds - 2tds - 1int - 75%comp

Bay - J. Finley - 25att - 45yds - 1.8avg - 0tds

Mich - M. Shaw - 15att -50yds - 3.5avg - 0tds

I will post more for my next attempt at this
I use Miami's playbook because I do love to run the football
Next Game is against #5 TCU this should be a hard fought battle, hopefully they don't spank me like they did Baylor this year.
For Penalty sliders and Sub Sliders I use SECElites(Good Sliders which I use in another Dynasty of Mine) versions of these as well.

Re: Mwolfe's Better Defense Trial

Finished Playing TCU yesterday it was tied at the end of first half but many mistakes on my part lead to their victory. Mainly the 3ints I threw in the fourth quarter alone.

Re: Mwolfe's Better Defense Trial

Just got done playing KU and won my Big 12 opener, will post stats later after work, still have no INT as of yet but is was still a good games. More on how this played out later. Next game is #16 TTU which should pose a threat with its spread offense and good QB.

Re: Mwolfe's Better Defense Trial

What A good game this was as I was able to pass KU with a win. Late in the Fourth Quarter though 2 big Clipping Penalties put me at 3rd and 38ytg. Their DE sacked me for a loss making it 4th and 44ytg and I was forced to punt in the back of my end zone. Needless to say they brought the score closer as it was then 19 to 28, KU went for the 2point conversion and failed. Then came the onside kick attempt by KU lucky for me they touch the ball to early and I was able to kneel down a couple of times to walk away victorious.

Re: Mwolfe's Better Defense Trial

This one of the most bizarre games I have played. Each team had a fumble recovery that lead to six. Only TTU was better because it was a 67 yard fumble returned to the house versus my 23 yard fumble return. Finally the first time I have ever gotten a safety in a game after almost five different season I have been through. I think a few more tweaks and these should be good to go.
