Re: mkharsh33 Varsity / Slow Speed / 8 Min

Good...we're now cool and can move forward.

Yeah, I'm 39...old man. I hate the AA and Heisman levels - just too many cheats.

Let's start with this base I just posted and work from there. I'm liking this game, but I'm disappointed that there isn't more consistency from the sliders. But we'll nail them...

CPU is dumb as balls when it comes to pitching the ball

Re: mkharsh33 Varsity / Slow Speed / 8 Min

I've got to head out for the evening, but just played the first half with the latest changes. HUGE difference (and for the better):

maryland (cpu) at w. virginia (me)... I'm up 14-13 at hafltime. MD jumped out to a 10-0 lead. I took the lead at 14-10. MD hit a fg as time expired.

G. smith: 12-21, 133 yds, 1 td passing and 1 rushing td
D. o'brien: 8-13, 109 yds

S. Alston: 6 car. for 29 yards, 4.8 avg
D. Meggett: 7 car. for 65 yds. 1 td, 9.2 avg (broke off a 36 yard run)

WV has 4 sacks and MD has 2
Ferrara - 2 FG's (both of 47 yards)

Still wondering about the user and cpu interceptions slider. But I like what I'm now seeing with the cpu offense.

Re: mkharsh33 Varsity / Slow Speed / 8 Min

new update... wednesday, july 13, 5:35 pm

2 things:

- raised cpu pass blocking to 75 (that gives the cpu universal running and pass blocking sliders). still think the user pass rush is too effect but I don't want to dummy it down or they'll just get locked and not make any impact.

- raised cpu pass coverage to 80.

I'm seeing something that might be an issue in trying to develop these: the balance between cpu pass coverage and cpu interceptions. (I also think user int's might have to be raised up from 5 as it is now). you can't lower qb accuracy lower than 0, so we'll have to tweak from the cpu's side of things...

Re: mkharsh33 Varsity / Slow Speed / 8 Min

Alright, just played another game of South Carolina/Georgia to test out the differences in the sets. This was using your ~4 PM set.

#13 South Carolina 23, Georgia 17
at South Carolina

Team Stats

UGA SC
Score 17-23
First Downs 15-15
Total Offense 262-328
Rushes/Yards/TD 27/40/1-45/218/2
Comp/Att/TD 13/21/1-8/13/0
Passing Yards 222-110
3rd Down Conversion 5/10-8/15
4th Down Conversion 0/1-1/2
2-Point Conversion 0/0-0/0
Red Zone/TD/FG 3/2/1-4/1/2
Turnovers 0-0
Fumbles Lost 0-0
Interceptions 0-0
PR Yards 23-42
KR Yards 118-48
Total Yards 403-418
Punts/Average 3/50.0-2/39.0
Penalties/Yards 6/53-4/46
Time of Possession 13:10-18:50

Passing
UGA: Aaron Murray - 13-for-21, 222 yards, TD, 5 sacks (Murray was 8-for-11 at one point, most of his incompletions came when he needed to throw deep to try to tie the game)

SC: Stephen Garcia - 8-for-13, 110 yards, sack

Rushing
UGA: Carlton Thomas - 17 carries, 55 yards (3.2/carry), long of 16
UGA: Ken Malcome - 5 carries, 21 yards (4.2/carry), long of 12

SC: Marcus Lattimore - 19 carries, 84 yards (4.4/carry), long of 25 (left with injury on last play of third quarter)
SC: Kenny Miles - 15 carries, 73 yards (4.8/carry), TD, long of 23

Receiving
UGA: Rantavious Wooten - 6 catches, 127 yards, long of 63

SC: Marcus Lattimore - 2 catches, 55 yards, long of 34
SC: D.L. Moore - 3 catches, 35 yards, long of 27

CPU had 1 drop, HUM had 1 drop

Defense
UGA: Jeremy Sulek (MLB) - 10 tackles (2 for loss)
UGA: Shawn Williams (FS) - 9 tackles (1 for loss)
UGA: Bacarri Rambo (SS) - 9 tackles (1 for loss)

SC: Devonte Holloman (FS) - 7 tackles (1 for loss)
SC: D.J. Swearinger (SS) - 7 tackles
SC: Devin Taylor (DE) - 6 tackles (3 for loss), 3 sacks (Taylor is only 85 OVR, CPU pass block/HUM pass rush may need toning down)
SC: Melvin Ingram (DE) - 5 tackles (2 for loss), 2 sacks (Ingram is only 85 OVR, see above)

Kicking
UGA: Blair Walsh - 1/1 FG, long of 22, kickoffs were getting 2-4 yards into end zone

SC: Jay Wooten - 3/3 FG, long of 43

Punting
UGA: Drew Butler - 3 punts, 50.0 average, 1 in 20, long of 52

SC: Jay Wooten - 2 punts, 39.0 average, 1 in 20, long of 41

----

Improvement over the first game I played IMO. HUM punt power may need to be bumped up one click. Still no turnovers - not sure how to fix fumbles but INTs still need some work. CPU QB play improved dramatically. CPU pass block/HUM pass rush might need tweaking as well.

Re: mkharsh33 Varsity / Slow Speed / 8 Min

So just played my first game using these sliders and I have to say they are probably the best I have used so far. For testing purposes I used LSU and Stanford and also used the coaching option to pick all of my plays. Here are some of my results:

Stanford: 17
LSU: 14

Position | Attempts | TD/INT | Completion %

Stanford
QB #12 | 12 - 24 | 130 | 1-0 | 50%

LSU
QB #9 | 16 - 24 | 211 | 1-0 | 66%

Position | Attempts | YPC

Stanford
HB #33 | 20 | 103 | 5.2
HB #32 | 14 | 62 | 4.4

LSU
HB #24 | 15 | 100 | 6.6
HB #42 | 3 | 13 | 4.3
HB #32 | 1 | 7 | 7.0

Overall it was a pretty good game thought I was surprised to see the top rated player Andrew Luck have a bad game though while I'm not a college fan I know LSU usually has a good defense and it might of been one of those games. Tonight I plan on playing Stanford Vs Akron just to see if Luck has a better game.

Here's a few suggestions to throw out there and maybe help make the sliders even better:

Penalties ) I had about 15 in the game and 10 of them were holding calls. Lowing holding by 5 should fix that.

Punting Power) seemed a little weak but again I think raising it by 5-10 would fix that.

QB Rushing) Hard to tell since I don't 'think' either QB has really speed QB's but I found it hard to rush with Luck. After Akron/Stanford I might try a speedy QB in Ohio State and see how I make out. Overall I think this is a really good start.

Re: mkharsh33 Varsity / Slow Speed / 8 Min

OFFENSE (user/cpu):
QBA- 0 / 60
PASS BLK- 40 / 75
WR CATCH- 25 / 60
RBA- 35 / 60
Run Block- 35 / 75

DEFENSE (user / cpu):
Pass Coverage- 40 / 80
Pass Rush- 40 / 100
Int- 5 / 60
Run Defense- 0 / 100
Tkl- 25 / 60

I would test these and see if they provide good balance mkharsh...remember the 25-50 rule formula

OFFENSE (user/cpu):
QBA- 0 / 60
PASS BLK- 40 / 75
WR CATCH- 35 / 60
RBA- 35 / 60
Run Block- 40 / 75

DEFENSE (user / cpu):
Pass Coverage- 35 / 75
Pass Rush- 40 / 100
Int- 10 / 85 or 60
Run Defense- 0 / 100
Tkl- 25 / 60

Remeber the gameplay balance formula this IMO even without playing yet would give excellent balance....these are actually pretty close to your settings and still allows CPU defenses to have personel and talent differences accross the board for variable outcomes on a team to team basis
