Re: Sliders are not effective

I`ll say this that i think it resumes everything.

Playing in Heisman with QB acc at 0 and i`m still not seeing Overthrows...

EA needs to make the sliders sensitive enough that we, Users can find a happy medium.

Neither sliders should be set at 0 or 100 if this were met.

Hopefully they can tune the sliders effectiveness. Is so hard to play a football game without overthrows in the year 2011.

PD: Knowing EA they will give us a patch that will go to the extreme. You won`t be able to find a happy medium because moving 1 click will make every throw a miss and moving 1 click to the other side will make every throw hit the WR. They always go to the extremes and they never give us a happy medium.

Remember that speed and threshold settings play a huge factor in all this.

Re: Sliders are not effective

I disagree the sliders are not effective. Heisman default plays really well compared to any NCAA ever made IMO. I play on Heisman and Fast game speed and My sliders are on the site now and I am seeing really good games.

I've seen overthrows as well and that is on qb accuracy on 40. There are more factors in forcing a bad throw than qb accuracy, I think a lot of guy put to much into qb accuracy as to where the the throw goes, for the computer I see it being a bigger influence on the velocity of the pass.

Buckeye are you tweaking on play now or dynasty? Might be half your problem. Tweak in dynasty the gameplay will be a little different.

Re: Sliders are not effective

Nut, all of my testing has been outside of a dynasty but I have noticed that some guys using my slider set are getting some significantly different results in their dynasties than what I am getting in exhibition matches.

Are you using named or unnamed rosters?
Are you patched or pre-patch?

In your opinion do you see a change when the pass coverage slider is tweaked?

Re: Sliders are not effective

I've always noticed gameplay is different in dynasty games than play now and to back that up, I always test out my special team sliders in practice mode to get the yardage right on punts and field goals and they are completely different in games. (and yes I test different rated specialist)

I use the community rosters, I'm not a big believer in this roster glitch, its an issue but it doesn't effect sim stats and the gameplay effect is minimal.

To be honest I've never changed the pass coverage, I always change the INT sliders. The pass coverage on heisman mixed in with fast gameplay and the good pass rush of the computer makes me get rid of the ball so quick sometimes that I feel the coverage is solid. The college football passing game is completely different than the NFL passing game, some guys forget it is college football and the numbers are going to be drastically different than the pro game because of the systems in the NCAA.

But to answer your question, if you don't take advantage of the 3/4 Verticals and those plays it is solid at 50 so I haven't seen its effect.

This year I have tried something different. Last year it took me five to six months to get my sliders where I wanted them to have competitive game play on All-American. That is what frustrates me. Every year I wasted a lot of time tweaking sliders and it is very frustrating.

This year I decided to start my dynasty and I have been switching back and forth between AA and Varsity. I have never played on Heisman because I always felt the computer was too over powering and I never found and equal balance of game play

Do you test your sliders in practice mode and what teams do you usually use?

Re: Sliders are not effective

Last years game I would test blocking sliders etc in practice mode and it really wasn't a big difference when I played dynasty games, this year all I tested was special teams sliders and they are completely different in games so I didn't waste time with other aspects of the game. I would NOT suggest testing things out in practice or play now mode. The big issue is a lot of people don't catch on but dynasty mode changes gameplay throughout the year. Ever notice how you will go some games and can't get a break either by turnovers or penalties? Then you will go two games and the computer can't get a break or they get all the momentum for a half? The game changes in Dynasty mode to give you a different feel to each game, that is my opinion at least.

Second there is a big issue with slider testing... how many guys just turn on a game to test sliders and not to try and win the game realistically? If your focusing on run blocking you will call 30 runs and 2 passes to just test things out, but the truth is the computer is going to adapt to what your doing and it isn't a realistic game when all your doing is running an Iso 18 times to see if the guard pancakes the linebacker 72.4 % of the time. Your not going to get real games unless your playing them like your trying to win and get to the BCS.

I play on Heisman and only Heisman so my results are going to be different but I can almost guarantee every year I'm going to turn down QB Acc., Hum Run Ability, Hum Run BLk, Hum Rush Def., and INTs for both & for the computer turn almost everything up, then I go from there by playing seasons with different teams to test them out and adjust accordingly.
