Re: Ben's Post-Patch Default Sliders

Second game of my Florida Gators dynasty with the Tough Slider set. Another good game, but after my third game with this set, I'm starting to see some red flags. I'll get to that in a moment. I was down 14-0 to start this game, a couple 3 and outs for me, and a couple long passes and a 15 yard carry gave them a two score lead. I was frustrated, but stuck with my gameplay, and it worked pretty well from there.

Things I Saw:
  • Another greatly executed goaline fade from J. Brantley, this time to Hammond. It looked beautiful.
  • I love the open space that a boosted CPU Run Block gives the CPU.
  • Speaking of the CPU Run Game, UAB had a lot of plays stopped in the backfield. Its annoying that they were running an option offense when they didn't have the QB to do so.
  • I doubt this is an issue with Shotgun running in gereral, as Alabama was smoking me on runs from the shotgun a couple of games ago
  • UAB got a lot of pressure on me, but I'm thinking it was mostly my fault for holding the ball too long.
  • My secondary sucks. I can't run zone, I can't run man. I figured their offense out a bit in the second half, but even then they put together a few drives.
  • Pretty frustrating to only beat UAB by 14, but I don't think it helped that I was being way too aggresive to kick the game off.

Cool, I appreciate all feedback, positive or negative. So feel free to speak your mind. My secondary getting smoked by UAB is definitely something I'm worried about, but I'm going to give it another game before I lower CPU pass accuracy (the coverage seems about right, but I'd like to see more bad throws from the CPU QB).

In my experience, its pretty minimal in All-American. I'd love to find a nice challenging set on AA, but its difficult to get. As you can probably see with my Original Post, I've learned that the CPU is going to cheat, and we as players really can't do a whole lot about it. My goal is to create a nice challenge, and give myself and others a fun game of simulated football. EA is a long ways from making this game perfect, but I still have a lot of fun with this game.

NOTE:

I just turned CPU Run Block down to 60, where I used it for UAB. Not sure if I'll keep it there, but I'm definitely going to be right around 60-65 for the Tough Sliders. If you're going to use the Death Slider set, definitely keep it at 65, as it provides a nice challenge.

Re: Ben's Post-Patch Default Sliders

Third game of my Florida Gator season (using the Tough Slider set. This was my first big challenge of the season, and I'm happy to say I pulled through with a W. It was a rainy saturday at The Swamp, and my strategy was just to play it conservatively, and thats exactly what I did. I got up early, and never looked back.

Things I Noticed:
  • As expected, Tennessee put up strong numbers on my below average secondary. The good news was it took them awhile to get those numbers.
  • You could really see the talent of Hunter and Rodgers on Tennessees side of the ball. They were tough to stop.
  • The more and more I think about it, the less I like the fact that when a QB gets sacked, it detracts from team rushing yardage. Tennessee ran the ball pretty well, and Bray's -25 yards give the image that they didn't.
  • I think this one played pretty much just as it should have, much better game overall than my last.
  • The first game that was more defensive than offensive. It felt good.
  • Bray threw a fade to Hunter for a first down, and Hunter lept up, put a foot in bounds, and came down with the catch. It looked beautiful.
  • I really like where the Human Run Sliders are at. The CPU run game is cautiously looking good.
  • My most competetive game yet. Once I get into the harder part of my schedule, I could start seeing a couples losses coming up.

It looks like besides the TOP, Tenn was doing a number on you. I have been busy but I plan on trying the tough sliders before I go to bed. I was waiting until you played a decent team to see how it worked out.

Yeah, if I hadn't gotten up on them early, I would have been in trouble. TOP is a tricky stat, because the CPU typically snaps the ball faster than I do. It was a game where I got up early, and played conservatively the rest of the way out.
