ched, that makes sense. using matts threshold which is 90 and ive seen amazing pockets and great protection. even the slow moving playaction passes out of wishbone were working. seems like alot of balancing still to do with these sliders.

Just played my first game with these sliders. But speed thresh hold at 20. I did play as South Alabama so my one complaint could be due to slow defenders.

The CPU QB did miss 20 passes. But 10 were due to drops. The defenders just dont react fast enough. Thats the only thing i saw that was wrong. Oh and clipping was called on every punt and kick off. I dropped it by one and it still happened so will lower again.

Gonna test these out real quick! Thanks bro!

UPDATE 7/9/13

Ok Im playing these first on AA Dificulty..
h
First thing I noticed is that the QB is missing making some good throws, but the receivers have a stupid amount of drops.. Im just at halftime in this game and there have been some really strange drops by the TAMU..

On the other hand, Ive seen some fights for the ball here and there which is a good thing. I had a guy wideee open in the endzone and a SS comes and swats it away, and almost tipped it to a teammate.

Almost missed quite a few INT's! Some Wide open! Like missing a lay-up!

Simply put, im kicing my opponents a** 21-Skunk..

My total yards 137+
His total yard 21.

Anyways, this AA game was a sleeper!

HEISMAN

1st Half - Wayyyyy more competitive.. 14-7 at halftime..
On the 2nd play of the game... Busted a 50 yard run with Mariota... CLIPPING CALL.. Didnt have much in the first half..

Same fights for the balls here and there, but I also had some extremely wide open receivers.. I was running alot easier too.

Wasnt alot of passing, but there were some missed balls. The touchdown that TAMU scored had to be reviewed and eventually over-turned as it was a pin-drop into bottom corner of the endzone.

I had an awesome 3rd down stop.. Stopped em on our 25.. They CPU missed a mid-range shot from about 35.. AND IT WASNT EVEN CLOSEEE!

Oh and to make matters worse. I go u 21-7 in the 4th quater.. Hail mary try and nobody was near the WR.. The CPU could have made a sandwhich, eat some a**, brushed his teeth, took a shower and still had enough time to catch the ball and simply drops a freebie..

I end up scoring a FG with 1Sec left. 24-7 win for me..

I guess the main tweaks here would be the catches.

this is what I have done and I constantly have diverse games vs the cpu. ive had shootouts as well as 13-10 slobberknockers I don't see a lot of penalties except for the occaisional clip hold offsides and false start. maybe once every 2 games ill get a facemask penalty. but I have been happy with just leaving them at default so far. been rocking Heisman w/ normal speed at 75 threshold. at 75 a big play is really earned and a lot of times it helps keep the score down ..shootouts for me have been in the 30's not the forties which I like

Re: Penalty Slider impact on Gameplay in NCAA 14 - Slider Set included

I've settled on my gameplay sliders now just trying to find that perfect balance personally to fit them. I notice that certain sets produce certain comp % and rushing yards. Also certain sets have fumbles and others simply dont.

I feel that opi and dpi is best left at default for my sliders

And that 85 offsides and false start is producing jumps on both sides.

I can't decide between int grounding at 50 or 100. I feel that 50 causes the computer to check down very fast and 100 causes quick throw always or scrambles

I'm spinning my wheels and banging my head against the wall trying to get these down. The gameply sliders were cake this year for me. Never thought I'd be struggling with penalty sliders for gameplay tho

Hey Josh,

This post seems pretty compelling. Have you had a chance to tweak any more?

Thanks in advance!

To be honest, I haven't....I have been having so much fun with Charter's sliders right now that I haven't bothered trying to re-tweak the OP.

(Ironically, his set is currently using no penalty adjustments)

The concepts are still valid and I am noticing other slider makers taking notice; which was really what I wanted to accomplish.
