    Fiddy's NCAA 14 Sliders

    alright OS buds, i know here we go, another slider set. but here me out!

    last night i was just wanting to play the game and enjoy it, yet i couldn't. i was sucked into the slideritus a bit bc of the forums. reading everyone's thoughts and opinions on every single slider, hum, cpu, and effects penalty sliders had on gameplay etc.

    while i enjoy all of that and respect everyone's views on the game (Yukon46, Matt10, Jarrodd21, Charter04, Oraeon, SECElit3, authentic, Jistic, Chedapalooza, BentleyA, ZaPPPa, insert whoever i missed here etc) i just wanted to play.

    i went back to my old way of setting up the game sliders and settings. kind of what EA does when going up or down a level, just use increments of 25. so, my only options for all sliders are 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100. thats it, no excuses, set them like that and leave it be.

    everyone's skill level is very different. so im sure how i have mine set will be very easy for some and thats fine. bump it up a level and adjust by 25's and see what ya can come up with.

    my feeling is that, by only going up and down by 25's is that the game plays more true to how EA has the game set up by default. the way they do things by default is obviously not perfect, but the more we mess with 5 clicks here, 5 clicks there, the more the game is out of whack it seems. just dont feel right, something always feels off. (im a believer in all the testing everyone has done though for the record. proof is in the pudding, you guys have proved it view posts and video.)

    so by going with just adjusting by 25 im back to having some fun. sure, it might not be 100% realistic, but it sure is fun.

    im seeing QB's spread the ball around all over the field, sideline animations, diving catches, lunging catches, tipped balls being intercepted, QB's taking off at times, QB's throwing it away at times, and even penalties being called..

    the stuff above, was very rare for whatever reason with a lot of changes. maybe staying a bit more true to how they go up and down levels helps this stuff out? who knows, but it feels that way.

    anyway, sorry for the rant.. but if this helps anyone else enjoy the game a bit more and are not worried about 5 clicks here and there, then that makes me one happy bud. LOL.

    please, leave any type of feedback ya want. ill update this 1st post with any changes that i make.

    3 INT's, i havent thrown 3 INT's in i cant tell you how long. 1 bad read by me, 1 great play by the DB, 1 off of a deflected pass down field...

    i fumbled, lost it, they fumbled (stripped RB), lost it.

    obviously ND should be Temple and i did. this could have been worse, but those picks, man!

        i really had some bad reads in this one. which lead to those INT's. but this was another one where i didnt feel threatened after the first few possession from Purdue. unlike last game, where Michigan was a tough game from start to finish.

        overall though good feel so far...

          I love your theory on this, and I'm going to use that theory to tweak what you've created and create my own set using only 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100.

            That's what makes this type of "theory" or default type setup great. It will work on all skill levels. If something needs tweaked, isolate the issue, bump up or down 25.

            I've been having a blast since using these. They are not the end all be all sliders but man they sure get the game to play how it was intended out of the box animation wise IMO.

                Just played a qtr with these and Fiddy I'm leaning towards that it may be some truth to your findings

                Animations are insane with these settings. First series and you instantly notice free flowing movement.

                I love Matt10's/crew slider set but one thing I hate is tweaking sliders all over the place to get desired results bit at the same time I understand that most of the.time it is a must.

                Give me.realistic penalties and then im a happy gamer

                  Plugged these in for a Play Now game. The only change was I turned off HFA and bumped up USER QB AWR to 5.

                  I was Iowa and played at home against Michigan. Game played really well. I had some struggles with stopping the pass but that was probably because I haven't play a lot of NCAA 14 (been editing rosters).

                  I ended up winning 24 to 21 and it was a hard fought game. I had my running game going but had a variation of long gains, medium gains, and short gains. My d-line didn't get much pressure but Michigan has a mobile QB and Iowa's d-line isn't great.

                  All in all I had a good experience and look forward to trying these out further.

                    i left the penalties at default bc it seems that they cause so many variables. one effects this, then that, well then i have to now change this etc.

                    the ONLY one im willing to move is IG. ill go to 75 and thats it. bc i have noticed it helps the CPU act a bit more natural back there.

                    ive seen holdings, clippings, facemasks, illegal touching, false starts, offsides, intentional grounding, offensive interference, defensive interference, roughing passer, and roughing the kicker.

                    ive seen all those penalties while at default 50, not all in one game, but in a span of about 8 games. 8 min quarters etc. i really think leaving the RBA at 50 helps with seeing penalties as well. bc guys are running how they were programmed to do.

                    i dunno. LOL

                    keep me posted on what types of games you guys are seeing and if you make any changes.

                      I really like this idea, I've already started working on my own set with 0, 25, 50, 75, 100 using your base.

                      After a few games, I know I need to make running harder, so I'll probably move CPU rush defense up to 100, trying to avoid moving RB ability at all costs.

                      I'm thinking on whether or not move up interceptions to 75 for either of us to bolster pass defenses. Both human and CPU completion rates have been a little high, but a lot of that is due to me opting for the shorter routes in a play a lot. The CPU seems to do the same. I might play a few more games to see if this is gonna be an issues.

                      Sorry I don't have any stats on hand, just thought I'd update my personal progress with tweaking these haha..

                        i just tried a game with the user RBA at 25, no dice. the game just dont flow very well with it that way.

                        i also tried a game with the cpu PASS ACC at 0, terrible. LOL. sticking with 25.

                        drmvp, keep us updated with your progress.

                        im just a firm believer that it we just adjust by 25 the game plays more true to the ratings etc. i could be 100% wrong, but like i said before it sure doesnt feel like it.

                          Haven't tested your theory yet, but I have been tinkering with something pretty similar. I'm starting to believe that this years sliders have to add up to the default total to make the infinity engine work properly. Looking at what you have posted for the CPU, if added up it equals the same as default, 450 pts offense and defense. You even stay at the default 700 if you include special teams.
                          When I was testing at values far below these numbers I thought I broke my game. Guys were bouncing 10 yards out of bounds, looked like physics on the moon.

                              Would love to see how these stack up to Matt10 set. Been playing with his since release but the game just doesn't feel natural.

                              Also would you say this set is more challenging than all the others?
