I actually forget exactly what rosters I'm using, but they're the original rosters, but with the real names added.

Going to try 9 minute quarters for more snaps to keep average with the cpu generated snaps.

You'll definitely get a more accurate total number of plays with 9 minute quarters, BUT...it will throw off the individual statistics, especially for the QBs. In CPU vs. CPU mode, the computer throws more often than they do IRL, so you'll end up with an average of about 40 attempts per game, when it should be about 32.

With 8 minute quarters, the RBs get the right amount of carries, individually, and the QBs get the right amount of pass attempts. The only difference is that you'll be short about 3-6 plays, which is usually accounted for the real life teams using the third-string RB 3-6 times per game, which the game does not do.

So, essentially, the total rushing stats will be off by about 10-20 yards per game if you use 8 minute quarters. If you use 9 minute quarters, you might get a more accurate number of plays, but the QBs will have way more attempts at the end of the year and you'll almost always be in the top of the passing yard totals.

The other issue with 9 minute quarters is you'll get a few more sacks, and that stat is already off by quite a bit, so any additional sacks would be overkill.

Hey, I actually played a full dynasty season with an updated set I've been using (slightly different from what's on the OP right now), and I've never actually gotten through a whole season without having to go back to the drawing board, so this is a good sign.

I don't want to post any box scores from the dynasty since they're all fictional guys at this point, but basically I have a stacked Florida Gators team with a ton of 95+ players at this point and they're running the table as they should, with some really realistic results.

I've actually had some issues with past settings against FCS teams where their passing game would be too strong for whatever reason, but the one FCS game I set to CPU vs CPU was an 86-7 massacre, and that was after putting in the 2nd team offense late in the third quarter.

I'm going to go back and use this set with the default rosters and hopefully they will have similar results and I'll start posting box scores and the updated settings here very soon.

Re: As real as it gets CPU vs. CPU sliders

I think I'm finally about as close to the most realistic set possible with CPU vs. CPU. I just updated the OP with the new settings (changes are in red) and I'm going to start posting a few box scores from the test games I've run, starting with the VA Tech/ Alabama game below. I'll also post the overall numbers from the test as compared to the real life numbers, which are about as close as we can possibly get within the limitations of the game.
