Head To Head is unplayable

This is not a rant. (Well it kinda of is) I love this game and I love this mode. The one thing that just ticks me off beyond belief is head to head.

1. Interceptions (passing game in general)

I throw 4 interceptions a game. It is ridiculous. The opponent picks me off 1/4 throws. It is unreal.

2. Defense

I can't play defense at all. I have a good defense but the opponents offense just over powers me.

I have a good team. ( 91 overall) maybe I just suck but these 2 things I listed above are just ridiculous. Can someone help me out here? Or is it just how the game is?

Cant pass? Run the ball more. Get great at that first.

Cant stop people? Well then just play a bend/dont break defense. Just chalk it up and know you will outscore them when you get better at offense.

I totally agree; H2H is a piece of trash. I was playing against a team ranked well below me and my defense stopped playing. Today, I was playing and I threw a touchdown to the other team... no it wasn't a pick six... he should've gotten a touchback but instead he got a touchdown. What's worse is that he won because of that play.

I totally agree; H2H is a piece of trash. I was playing against a team ranked well below me and my defense stopped playing. Today, I was playing and I threw a touchdown to the other team... no it wasn't a pick six... he should've gotten a touchback but instead he got a touchdown. What's worse is that he won because of that play.

I got an interception like that, I picked it off in my endzone and I got a td lol

and that's why I stopped playing H2H until a patch comes out. Freaking sucks. Well that, and the DC glitching where YOU get the loss!

I think I've won about 10 games on H2H now and only 1 has been actually completed, everyone just quits before the end, it's annoying and I'm not sure how it affects my points.

Also, something that helped my passing was those Nike SPARQ training things on the home page. Properly using the leads and different types of passes can be the difference between INTs and TDs.

The opposite is happening for me.

I rarely throw picks and I get a lot of interceptions/sacks.

Everything is stoppable. The only thing that annoys me is when you are in a good cover 2/cover 2 sink and you have 3-4 guys playing hook zones in the middle and the opponent just eyes down 1 WR and forces it to him and completes it 5/10 times. You have to manually shut down the middle. It sucks because I like using DE's at times.

I have had a few WTF games. WR's and RB's drop a few early passes. Then a DB jumps a route and picks one off. After that my QB is toast, my line can't hold anything and the running lanes just aren't there.

Sometimes the game seems to pour it on.

I am so sick of playing people with top rated players at every single position. it's not fun at all, once again they fail with their matchmaking system. how hard would it be to make a cutoff on who can play who? or at least let us see the other persons team? even madden can do that. total fail imo.

these dudes spending hundreds of dollars on packs should only play other losers spending hundreds of dollars of packs.

ive had a few bad games with people dc amd i get a loss.but what i feelis more annoying is people who run 3 plays every game..read option corner route or across the middle over over and over agian

I felt that way too when I first got the game and was getting used to everything. Now my defense is great though and I've won 11 games in a row (including a championship).

In my opinion, corners are the most important part of your defense. Get some good corners with high man coverage and put one of your safeties into purple zones to shut down the outs and curls. User the middle with either a safety or MLB. If you play zone you better have at least 9 in coverage with purple zones on each side. In man defense I always have 9 in coverage too with no safeties in deep coverage.

Seriously, if you have a star CB that you can leave on an island it enables you to double team other WR's and flood the short/mid range area...it makes playing defense a lot easier.

Purple zones are extremely underrated, but I don't think you need more than 1 on each side.

Have a safety over the top...2 outside corners playing man and shading inside then have your 2 other safeties/lb's/db's play the 2 purple zones. Manually control the MLB to lock down the middle.....sounds like a good defense to me! Flats would be left open though.

You'd have to be in a 4-2-5, Dime, or a 3-3-5 for this to work though.

As mentioned above, I'm sick of the people that call, like, two different plays for an entire game. The people I've played against spam read options and curl routes over and over again. Sometimes I can find plays that'll work to shut them down, but it takes a few minutes, which can be catastrophic given how flipping short the games are. And that's not even mentioning the people with Vick/Kaepernick/RGIII who just immediately take off when they snap the ball on a pass play.

Then, on offense, I can throw to a guy who's wide open, and the opposing DB pulls a 180, sprints to my receiver like he's Usain Bolt, and picks it off without even looking at the ball. It's ridiculous.
