Re: Wait..what no Dreads :(

Again EA has a company wide policy to push certain things to the maximum while leaving out auxilary items like this. This has been posted and and confirmed from folks at EA.

This is a company policy. It is what makes EA games the way they are. What they have in is impressive but what they leave out is why the games feel so stagnant, lifeless and do not maintain interest for myself.

I am not surprised at all that EA has left out many small features while maximizing other features....that is how they are structured.

Like any project with a deadline and a budget at the start you sit down and see what you "realistically" can get done before the deadline and within your budget.

If this game was just dreadlocks away from being stellar, you guys would have a point.

But given the limited tine frame and the numerous things they really do need to fix, add or improve I am betting dreads is down the list a bit

It's not just a matter of wanting to do it and waving a magic wand and getting it done. It's a matter of prioritization and deadline management This is project management 101 stuff.

Frankly while it would be cool to have dreads, given the numerous issues this game has had they have bigger fish to fry.

Unless Odogg or anyone else here saying they could do this job has legit software development project management experience, I guarantee you they would be buried by this job with in 2 weeks.
I couldn't have stated this better.

Like ODogg, i appreciate every time an EA dev takes time out of their lives to come on here to talk to us but it really seems as tho sometimes they just flat out dont listen to us. I mean how long do we have to wait before they fully utilize that ESPN license, or give us a true to broadcast presentation. Do you think its a coincidence that so many ppl keep bringing up NFL 2K5? The broadcast presentation in that game was unlike anything we've seen in a game, and that was withOUT an exclusive hold on the ESPN license.
Now I'm not saying that it would be a smart move, but in all actuality, they aint obligated to listen to anything anyone on here says if they dont feel like it mayne.

Can it be done? Sure. However, it is a big impact feature budget wise. It would be a hard sell to avoid it getting cut when we are at 200% over budget . It isn't a matter of laziness, it is a matter of priorities. I'd love to have it, along with a laundry list of other stuff, but at the end of the day we have a limited amount of time to make the game.
I ask you not to take offense for what I'm about to say, and what I'm saying I say with all the respect I can muster.... but are you serious? You don't have time to implement features into a game that were in the last gen version of the game? You have to be kidding me. You've had 4 years to improve upon this series and add things such a dreads, how is that not enough time? And you don't have the budget? Please, don't make me die laughing. You're EA Sports, you have a complete lock on all things dealing with professional and collegiate football and you supposedly can't fit dreads into the budget? I'm literally dumbfounded.

If that's what it takes to put dreads into the game then do it. I'm tired of waiting for a next gen football experience. I'm tired of waiting for the art team to add dreads, hand towels, multiple cleat variations in various colors, Nike and UA gear, etc. It's been 4 years and you can't add things as simple as this. It's getting ridiculous, and it's not that you can't, it's that you wont. You have the Nike license, you have the ESPN license, etc, and it's like you don't even bother to use them.

What makes it worse is that we get games like MLB 09 The Show, that aren't perfect games, but games that pay attention to details. Games that are created by Devs that actually pay attention to what we want . They attempt to push the envelope and give us a game that we can truly lose ourselves in. Actual great sports titles that pay as much attention to presentation as they do gameplay. The end result is a great sim sports titles that'll be played for a long time. That's what I'm tired of waiting for out of EA. You say it isn't laziness, that's exactly what I'm calling it.

I just don't get it. Same deal for refs and the chain gang.

When you guys are setting around talking about the new game do you completely forget everything discussed about the previous year's game until you come into the forums and get reminded in April? Because it sure seems that way.

Probably the "Limited amount of time" part. The game has been on next-gen for years and we're still hearing the same ol' excuses.

Exactly. I mean good lord. How much time could adding dreads, multiple shoes variations, a more diverse helmet selection, hand towels, etc, consume? My guess would be less than 4 years.
