Increase the Roster size

Hard-no, time consuming-very. Most of the reasons they don't have many of the features we would like is not because it is to difficult to do, it is because they just don't have enough time to make the perfect game in 1 year. And if you suggest they take a couple years to work on it, then realize how much money they would lose from sales of releasing it yearly instead.

I'd rather they spend the time they have making gameplay better.

I am a developer myself, and from a programming standpoint, it is not that time consuming. Right now there is a limit in there code that stops players from being added to a roster, simply increasing that limit to 85 will not be a problem. Storage is also not a problem because the NG consoles have plenty of that. There is nothing pressing that is keeping them from increasing the roster size.
