Red Shirting

Who should I be redshirting before the season starts? I am in the second season with FIU and i went 11-1 with them in the first season. I got some good 3 and 4 star recruits but dont know if im supposed to red shirt them or what.

Re: Red Shirting

Depends on your team. If you pick a great MLB and have a hole there, then start him right away. If you deep there, red-shirt him to give him some time to develop. If you do not plan on putting much emphasis on training the following off-season because you need to recruit after that season, then red-shirting might not be a good idea. So it really depends, though I would use your depth at position to decide.

Re: Red Shirting

I rarely cut anyone. I recruit mostly for quality instead of quantity and rarely have an overabundance of players at any posotion. The only time I cut is when making major upgrades when building a cupcake into a power team, to clear out those 40 rating players. Also, I will sometimes cut a player who walked on by accident who sucked. IE, I was recruiting a need on my team and failed to get the player or players I wanted, and then this 50-60 level player walks-on. I will cut him in the following season when I have managed to get a better recruit. Doesn't happen often, but its happened a couple of time to me.

I find it better to keep your roster close to minimum, because its easier to recruit a replacement where you have a need then to upgrade your players when all your needs are met by mediocre players.

Re: Red Shirting

if you're 11-1 with FIU you need to notch up the difficulty and/or adjust sliders..seriously man..
