I did something similar and a problem I ran into was that there weren't very many west coast 1-AA schools, so it was difficult to keep some region integrity in many divisions and many major states had very few schools, such as California, giving the few schools there cheap local access to a lot of major recruits.

Heh. I didn't even think of making the conferences geographically pheasible when I made mine. So I've got teams from all over the place (I just went alphabetically). The Big Ten now has schools from Washington, South Carolina, and New York. Whoops.

It didn't help me that I am really only familiar with the Southland conference since that is where my alma mater plays. A lot of Div 1-AA schools I had never heard of and wasn't about to start a dynasty with every one to figure out where they were from.
