3 ,600 plus is nothing to sneeze at for a career...but he suffers from playing weaker talent but that isnt completely true because the landscape of football was different. That being said any heisman winner with career stats like his would have be one of the best

He did player weaker conference games. BAck in those days of the WAC only BYU and occasional SDSU were really worth a damn. However Air Force usually plays a pretty tough OOC schedule.

Tommie Frazier, might have been the best pure football player to play the position in college. But man, the way Dee Dowis ran the option, was somethig to behold. Plus he has a cool name.
