Option out of the shot gun

I read an inteview with one of the NCAA Producers and it said that the option got a considerable amount of work.

Has any one heard if this means being able to run the veer, triple, etc.. out of the gun. The option out of the gun last year was not very good.

Also, noe every run out of the gun is a draw. There are inside zones, traps, Darts (QB traps) and the like.

Here is hoping that the Gun Runs go reworked...

Re: Option out of the shot gun

I actually like running the option out of the gun near the goal line or short yardage. Sometimes it would get stuffed, but that happens with any play.

Re: Option out of the shot gun

Running the option out of the gun is pretty sweet, especially if you mix it up with some PA pass.

Especially the Read Option, where you have the option withe the QB to stick the ball in the gut of the RB and leave it there and let him run in one direction, or pull the ball out and run in the opposite direction... Good times.

One of my favorite plays is running the sweep out of the gun and then coming back and running play action and getting the QB on the boot.

I agree that they need to work on the shotgun running game. Its become a big party of college football and the game needs to do a better job of replicating that by adding more play variety and better blocking schemes.

no question. Hell my alma mater Michigan St. and their entire running game essentially comes from the gun. Unfortunately the game doesnt feature many differant plays from it. Where are the zone plays? Where are the option reads? COunter draws? EA can add so much by tweaking so little. I hope they focus on things like this instead of putting another useless formation in the game like ace/big....good god.

I think you'll see more variety in the shotgun running game for Next Gen NCAA.
