It is rare that a guy is gonna run straight ahead for 40 yards on most plays in a College Football game, so 40 times really can be a bit over valued.
I was at both UT-Auburn games last year, and I can't see how Mix would be rated ahead of Courtney Taylor. Mix is a good receiver, but Taylor is a stud. The catch that he made on 4th down against LSU to keep the winning drive alive was just SICK!!!

Speed doesn't mean anything at WR if you can't catch the ball.

I agree 100%. For instance, Jonathan Wade for the Vols is the fastest player on the team for 2 years running. He started out as a WR, but last year was moved to CB because he can't catch a cold.

Well, the thing is that he probably is the fastest LB in the nation that plays for a major team. So they did that accurately. Also he hits like a mack truck, so he has to have good tackling skills. The awareness is lower than all the other elite LBs, because he's a junior, so put all that together, and you get his rating. I don't think he's overrated (compared to other backers) in the game.
