I think their entire conference is not in the game. I do not recognize those schools from 2005.

Of those listed, I think there are several conferences not in the game. Checking by familiarity, I think these conferences are not in 2005: Big South, Great West (Cal Poly's conference), IAA Independent, MAAC, Northeast and Pioneer.

That would explain them not being in NCAA Football. For BBall, though, they are in the Big West, and every other school in the conf. is in there (UCSB, etc.). Weird. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Actually they are in the game... but under a different name.

Im pretty sure that if you count the number of teams in the big west, it will be the same but you wont recognize the name of one of the teams, thats them.

The NCAA isn't like the NFL or MLB. Licensing agreements have to be done with each school, though sometimes a school can defer to the conference. Just like EA has a license agreement with the BCS that is not covered under the NCAA agreement. I think the NCAA license covers the NCAA name and logos, the polls, possibly the non BCS bowls, and the awards only. Why Cal Poly doesn't allow its likeness in games, I don't know.
