How do you determine speed?

How do you determine what stat to put to a guy with 4.5 speed? Is there some kind of scale EA uses to where a 4.5 guy has say 90 speed, and 4.4 has 93, and a 4.3 has 96, etc....I am just wondreing, b/c I am trying to create a bama player or two that are freshman. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: How do you determine speed?

I don't know if this helps but I just recruited a 3 star, 4.18 halfback. After scouting him it was a 4.23 40. His speed was 91. I am not sure, and it would be nice if someone could correct me on this but a 5 star who runs a 4.20 40 has a higher speed than a 3 star who runs a 4.20 40. It wouldn't make any sense but so far this seems like a possible trend?

Additionally I recruited a CB in the inseason recruiting his 40 time didn't stand out to me and he ended up having 99 spd and 99 acceleration. So who knows!

Re: How do you determine speed?

I guess so in other words, EA really just kinda has no basis for it huh? I wonder if the times are based on what position they play. I.E. 4.23 time for a HB is 92 speed, but 4.23 time for WR is a 95 speed and a 4.1 or so would be 99 speed? Who knows? If anyone else has any thoughts on this, let us all know.

Re: How do you determine speed?

The combination of attribute values for speed and acceleration form the resulting speed or 40 speed.

When creating a player, with a desired speed take into consideration both values. I would assume acceleration has more to do with 40 time than speed.

Re: How do you determine speed?

There is track speed, then there is "football speed." Kind of like when the Raiders tried to sign those 100 yard dash stars to be wideouts...didn't work.
